Thinking ahead - how to cool a bedroom?

I'm not sure if that's aimed at me or not but no, that is not what heat pumps do.

Winter/heating, Summer/Cooling, as per the easily understood link I provided.

I stayed at a hotel in Tenerife last year. The room didn't had the AC but got the ceiling fan.

I was surprised how efficient the ceiling fan..cooled me down and I slept like a baby.

Ceiling fan is a good cheap alternative
I’ve been looking at ceiling fans and it’s really hard finding a decent one that doesn’t hang too low in a modern house

Going to suggest a ceiling fan again as others have. I have one in each of our bedrooms and the lounge and they make life so much better in the summer and I can sleep easy under one, cheep to run and quiet.
Have you high ceilings if not which one did you go for please?

Not sure a ceiling fan will cut it in our case - our main problem is that all the heat gets trapped and collects at the top of the house turning it into an absolute furnace on the 3rd floor. Have been researching and discussing elsewhere too and thinking we will probably go for it - no idea when installation will be able to happen though

The one I brought came with a removable pole for lack of a better word. Use the pole if you had high ceiling or don’t if you have low ceilings.

Thinking ahead towards this summer I have ordered two ceiling fan lights, one for the living room and one for our bedroom. There seems to be quite a few about that are just over 30cm high, the ones I have purchased are 41cm.

For £250 I would look at a second hand portable AC unit. I bought an AEG chill flex last summer which vents out of the window.

The cool air coming out of that whilst trying to work in 30 degrees was bliss!!!
