That made me think. I appreciate it.

Shouldnt have a problem with the X1950 series or any other single graphics card on that PSU.warren_1979 said:Is this a decent PSU to power this card?

So what your really trying to say here is.. save money and buy the X1950XT that has GDDR3 memory, and overclock it, and it will clock better than the x1950xtx (due to GDDR3) or the x1900xtx (due to the better 1950's more efficient core).Concorde Rules said:X1950XTXs all top out at 2.2ghz to 2.3ghz on mem, I haven't seen one set higher.
X1900XT/Xs have however hit 1ghz with G-DDR3, which G-DDR4 cannot beat except when its up to 2.5/2.6ghz. But it can't get there.
22W saving! Wow! Yes still limited by the fact the core heats the mem up and not the other way round. Still doesn't matter for the non overclocker.
X1900XTX > X1950XTX for any overclocker.

I thought you said it was a better card! What about if the person runs at stock?
And you're basing all this on getting a card which is a good overclocker. So what if the buyer doesn't? What if they get a good overclocking X1950XTX?
Everything you say is based on speculation. You can carp on about writing all the overclocking guides under the sun, it wouldn't make you less wrong.
And erm... the 3DM06 record is held by 2900XTs. So does 2900XT > 8800 Ultra? I'd be careful how you answer that one.
And it's a bit more than 5W at load.

edit: sorry its not really related to OP, but it may clear up that little debate
