Would not go for a modular PSU as the PSU holder is tiny. Best to go for a Non-modular + you can't see in the case so it doesn't need to be too neat!

If it's tiny, then surely a modular PSU would be better as less cables = more space. It's the same price as the non-modular too.
 
This will fit your needs very well, it will play 99% of the current games on ultra, maybe not games like planetside 2 and arma 2 as they are poorly optimised.

You won't really need a cpu cooler until you want to overclock your cpu.

change of plan I am going to do this build over a couple of months i think so i have got a bit more to spend.

I have decided on intel 2500k processor, gigabyte z77m motherboard, viper 8 gb memory, corsair gs 600 psu and the black prodigy case.

What gpu should I get I would like to be able to run games on max settings looking to spend between 200-300 pounds

the cooler i have been thinking of running is the corsair h100 what are peoples thoughts on this cooler is there a different cooler that you would choose?
 
You really do want to be looking to get the 3570k, unless the 2500k is on some amazing deal. As for the GPU, a 7950 would be your best bet in that budget.
