Thinking of swapping my car, Am I Mad ?

Well i have been looking at BMW 325i Sports a lot lately and there is a giuy selling one that i really like

He got in touch with me about a swap last night and i offered him a straight swap and £500 plus i would go all way down to Surrey. Do you think i havent offered enough or should i just forget the idea all together ?
 
If the car is straight, it can't be a bad deal. Give it a thorough test drive/checking over beforehand.

I've no idea if the price it's on PH for is realistic, but my ignorant opinion is that 5 grand seems a lot of money for a 15 year old motor with unspecified mileage.

IIRC your Mondeo is quite high mileage as well, and £4500 for yours (while very nice, mondeos go for peanuts) is more than generous if he were to accept.

I prefer your car to the E30 3 (even though it looks mint) to be honest.
 
I was going to say...swap for a car with no aircon, worn leather blah, blah, but it is a raggy....so.....tbh, I would probably be in a dilema like yours...

However, What I cant get my head round is the fact that these cars are still fetching £5k!

Yeah my car is just about to hit 106k on the clock but she still goes strong. I really love the look of the olkd 325s with the body kit on they look real classy and a soft top would be ideal for the summer :)

Dont get me wrong i like my mondeo but i could fo with a change.

Despite loving RWD and convertible cars, that doesn't seem like a sensible swap to me. If it was an old m5 or an old m3 then I'd think about it, but that's just silly.
 
If that’s a genuine motorsport cab its value will never go down. Looks like a very nice example. I would do it, should be fairly reliable if looked after well but remember they are old cars now.
 
condition over age every time. Age of cars has never bothered me in the slightest, if it's in decent condition then I wouldn't hesitate.
 
I says go for it... Love older BM's... there is somthing that makes you want to look at that one all day! do i need to say anything about the alloys? (hmmm)

As said above "condition over age every time" BM's are solid

Would he swap for a civic? hehe :p
