And yet an overclocked Haswell system running a couple of GPU's will still post higher results.....

You need your sarcasm detector sorted mate![]()
You can get brand spanking new 2600k's for £180'ish
So if you sell your 2500k you'll be looking at a cheap upgrade.
That's my point by the way, Intel i7 2600K @ £180, how old is that cpu, still an able performer I know but £180....
couldn't do it mate, not got the money anyway. FX8320 £115.... do me fine.![]()
Well I have not seen a 2600K at that price 'new' but it would still leave me with £80 to find which I don't have! That's my point by the way, Intel i7 2600K @ £180, how old is that cpu, still an able performer I know but £180....

Can you run your i5 2500K faster?
It's pretty lowly clocked.
Say, 4.6GHZ, as this information could be useful for other people, at 4.2GHZ, it's going to negatively effect the performance with a 7950 Crossfire.
I'd want 4.8GHZ minimum if I was running a 7950 Crossfire.
I run benches on the Crysis benchmark and my 2500k slaughter the FX CPU it was put up against...

Have to admit I'm not really into overclocking, that 4.2 was really easy to do and I had ran the chip at stock until about a month ago when I got another 7950 for xfire and realised I'd have to clock it up a bit, I don't know what its capable of as I've only changed the multiplier.![]()
