Thinking of upgrading from socket 1156? Maybe this will help.

Thanks for the update pastymuncher, interested to see what my ram will do when i get everything setup. I dont think it will be as good as the samsung green. If they were not overpriced I would buy a set, wish I had bought some when they were cheap.

nice bench marks but saying you don't notice any difference in games is wrong bench the right games and see there is big jumps in some games like skyrim arma , wow for eg. that's just a few off top of my head.

use stuff where the horsepower counts youll see the difference . go play a xbox game obviously it wont be much in it.

I can't believe how much they are now!! I paid £65 for 16GB back in March. Going to see if it stays stable with the full 16BG tomorrow.

I told the truth. I can't notice any difference in any of the games that I play. I did say there would probably be a difference in the likes of a MMO though. I don't play Skyrim and have'nt played WoW for over a year now. I will give the Witcher 2 a blast tomorrow and see if there is any change with that.

SuperPI 1.50 times have dropped considerably too

P55 with ram @1600mhz 1m 10.358sec
32m 9m 25.908sec
Z87 with ram @1600mhz 1m 8.128sec
32m 7m 13.010sec
Z87 with ram @2133mhz 1m 8.049sec
32m 7m 0.047sec

So close to getting below 7m on the 32m test!!!

As you can see, getting decent memory and clocking it shows big gains on Z87/Haswell so is well worth doing.
Regarding super pi 32m pastymuncher, have you upped your uncore clock at all, (default is 39x) increasing this to 42 helped drop my time a good bit too. May need to adjust system cache voltage a tad, im running 1.175 here. 32m time of 7m 5's. Some good ram tweaking info in the super pi thread here.

Uncore is at 42x with 1.170v. Can't get it to go any higher even with 1.25v. Quite happy with my ram now. I have the full 16Gb running with no extra tweaking needed. It was a pain to get 16Gb running on my old P55 board at 2000mhz. I could easily break the 7m barrier in superPI 32m just by clocking the cpu back to 4.7Ghz but i just want to use the pc now. I have been tweaking and benching for a week already.
