This Instant And Moment - 2021!

Have ruined my own evening by overthinking my meeting I have with the CEO tomorrow. Just a usual 6 week 1:1 but in the last few weeks I've seen jobs with my role/experience being paid a substantial amount more than I am on. Also not had a payrise since 2018 so I feel it's a case of if I don't ask I won't get and the worst she can say is 'No' but I've just spent all evening otherthinking about it.

I'm sure I'll have a fantastic nights sleep
 
You buy an Xbox Series X and play games for a week and then you realise the HDMI cable you are using from the AV to the TV is not HDMI 2.1 compliant.

And I wonder what's the point of 4k if I haven't noticed it for a week? lol

Thanks man. I think it went OK actually. Put my case forward and surprisingly she agreed with me and said a payreview was very overdue and it would be a shame to lose me over wage issues. Hopefully that wasn't just lip service and actual feelings.

Fingers crossed.
 
Spent the day so far setting up a new bottle labeler and printer but the new one is so pants, transfered the main bits from the old one to the new one including the main controller box exciting stuff, roll on Fri lunch finish

4K is such a stupid target resolution, particularly for video games. At most screen sizes and viewing distances the human eye can’t resolve the resolution difference between 1440p and 4K, and that waste processing power is much better spent on doubling the frame rate or massively improving other graphical settings.
 
Anyone else find live chats annoying when they ask you to provide your name etc before you can start the chat and then you finally get talking to someone and they ask for the exact details again *face/palm*
 
Very much so, same as when you phone some companies, they get you to key in your order number or DOB etc and then immediately ask for it upon answering.
 
God dammit, my garden furniture saga goes on.

I gave up on Ikea stuff as we just wanted something sooner. So on the 30th April we found some stuff on a website called Tectake, fairly cheap looking stuff but figure it's not too bad if we change in a few years.

Find a set we liked and the prices per colour varied wildly. We would've liked the darker grey, but it was £150 more that the natural brown so we decided to save the cash and go with that on the 30th April

Then despite TCB tracking the sale i went to check something on the 5th May and turns out i didn't actually have an order confirmation. And now the light grey had dropped and was £200 cheaper than anything else so we decided we'd go with that.

This morning i got a tracking email so all was good, but needed to order a cover and wanted to check the dimensions and the prices have changed again! The one we ordered has dropped even further but the dark grey has also dropped and is now at a point where we'd have been happy paying the extra to just get that!

That *is* a nuisance.
 
What an odd pricing strategy. Surely its not worth it for them with the increase in order cancellations / returns processing / inventory management that it would cause? I'd also be unlikely to leave them a good review as a customer if the price was hundreds cheaper than when I bought it only a few days later...
 
Yeah, it's absolutely baffling.

I just rang them to find out about any returns/rejection charges and it seems if i reject the parcel then it just goes back to them and they don't charge any fees for doing so, however she also offered to refund me the extra £35 on the light grey one we had ordered.

As a badge holding cheap ******* i'm pretty tempted to go with that! Paying an extra ~20% just for a different colour seems madness!
 
20% extra for a colour change? ...it sounds like metalflake colour price differences in cars.
 
Note to self: it pays to remind others occasionally that an even number of negations of any size simply cancels all out.

I have rebuilt the bottle labeler and printing machine they got me at work from bits from the old one
Trouble is the used roll,is getting snapped on the spindle it wraps on, surely as the reel gets bigger and it pulls more there's gearing or freewheel effect to stop this.
Boring but thinking on here helps me sometimes, anyway midday finish
 
What an awful night. Ran out of Lorazepam and the chemist didn’t have my prescription in. Had to go without for the first time in months.

Awake most of the night, nauseous, tingling, restlessness, mini panic attacks and horrible dreams when I did sleep.

I pray the chemist gets them in today.
