Yeah, I got a rash after getting bitten by a tick. Suspected Lyme Disease = take off and nuke the place from orbit.

Ugh, I hope you feel better soon.

A friend's husband had that. He felt awful for ages, and was lucky it got picked up, pretty much by chance.

Does make me wonder how many people may be unaware they have it

So I need to return some headphones to Amazon due to faulty…spoke to Chat last night..

1st operator sounded like an AI, stupid responses most of the time. Half way through when “she” asked me, how would I like to return it, she offered Hermes…my immediate reaction is NO, and ask “is it possible to drop it off at the post office”.

She then went straight to “we can set up a Royal Mail collection from your house.” Which I declined as I go past the Post Office everyday to and from work, I just need a label.

Before I knew it, she had initiated a refund and sent me a 48hrs RM label and set up a collection! I ranted a bit more about her being a robot/AI and then the screen showed “A new agent will be with you”.

Then the new agent, another AI now call Om, presumed it’s a guy, said, “let me read back your previous conversation”. I said “Thelia messed up”.

Then I got passed on to which I presumed this time is a human….I got fed up and decided to take my chances with Hermes/Evri so I asked them to cancel the RM collection and I can do Evri drop off. Which he confirmed it was cancelled.

The whole thing that should have taken 5mins ended up taking an hour, mostly about trying to get a return label with RM rather than a collection.

What just happened now? I got a notification in my email that Royal Mail had been to collect.

My parents' neighbour got Lyme Disease from a tick. He wore shorts all the time outside work. Since then, he only wore shorts in the very hot weather we had last summer.

It hasn't been warm enough here to wear shorts! I suspect it got carried in on one of the cats and fell off onto our bed, but I don't actually know. I found it in my leg whilst having my morning shower.

Oh the joys of teeth! One of my fillings is coming away and needing to be refilled. Very deep one too and it was bloody painful even with double amount of anaesthetic! My dentist has warned that could have root canal if the filling is deeper!

Teeth are badly designed imo. Expect us to have adult from the age of 6 to we die/have dentures/crowns. Ideally should fall out and grow every 6-10 years. Plus it would look normal for people to have missing teeth.

:) Seems my dad is good to be discharged today. Needs to keep having injections in his stomach to help break up the clot, but has had scans on his legs/heart which haven't revealed any additional clots.

Now he just needs to sort his life out. They eat out around 5-6 times a week i reckon and whilst my mum will order salads/grilled fish/chicken, my dad lives on fried fish and chips and sausages!

Fantastic news man :)

Currently glued to the sofa again, full time on-premises work is tiring :( I should be filling and doing a second mist coat in the lounge but for now, we vegetate...

@Raymond Lin if you were in Tokyo for like....12 hours 7pm till next day 9am - what would you do/stay?

Depends....

Does the clock starts at Shinjuku or are you in Narita or Haneda Airport at 7pm?

Because it will take about 35-45mins from Haneda into the city and about 2hrs from Narita.

Do you need to be back at the airport (and which one) at 9am or are you leaving say Shinjuku at 9am?

And how much sleep do you need?

Are you alone?

Note that the trains stops from midnight, the last train to and from the airport is probably around 10:30 from Narita. Late night (like past midnight buses to and from the airport are currently suspended). Although you can get a taxi to Haneda for about £30-40. Narita will set you back a couple of hundred.

Things to do in the city, most retail shops starts closing at 8pm/9pm. Most restaurants closed by 10pm. Some opens 24hrs, like Matsuya and Sukiya. Konbini like 7-11 are mostly 24hrs.

Late night entertainment you can do Karaoke, but room are booked by the hour. The bars around Omoide Yokochō would start closing from around Midnight. There are Manga Cafes you can go to that stay overnight.

Shibuya Sky closes at 10:30.

Basically, if you can get to Tokyo shops by 7pm, I would go get a good meal, perhaps go to Shibuya at 9pm to check out the city view. Then on if you want to go drinking then you can go to a bar. If you want to stay up all night then it's Karaoke.

A budget night sleep i would look at APA hotel, avoid Capsule hotels, they are not that fun really. Plus the prices has gone up since all the tourists started using them. They are loud, the temperature is hard to control, or there are none. APA is a hotel chain targetted for businessmen. Tiny room but at least your own bathroom.
