When is the right time to join the queue? They could be waiting a while if someone else keeps joining it. Who decides which old gribble joins first, are they all in it together? Maybe its a plot to annoy the staff by buying things they need. Why do (mainly elderly) customers insist on going to the checkouts all at once for a 20 min period on Wednesday mornings? I refused to jump on as saw two of them the source of my panic attacks. These customers have zero idea that their behaviour is causing us stress. Just look at the general merchandise and clothing for a few minutes and then you don't have to queue as much. I did this when I was shopping before the days of self scan and scan n go.
They probably just like a natter tbf.
