This Is Why No PC Star Wars Force Unleashed

It's the same reason why GTA 4 is very unlikely to be coming to the PC.

Umm, the PC version of GTA4 is due for release 21/11 isnt it?

Edit – Sorry, I just noticed how old this thread was, thought it was new. Ignore my point in that case! :)

He is still wrong, even back then...

GTA is, and will always continue to come to pc, just a bit later than the rest...
They just want to milk consoles first, a weak tactic, as I almost bought a 360 for gta iv alone :(.

I don't miss it, force unleashed is a rubbish and boring game imo...

Just another hack and slash ish game but then with terrible ai, star wars themed, and boring :(. Just seems boring to me personally when I played it on my mates ps3, my mates also don't seem to get why I dislike it but it's one of the poorest modern games I've ever seen tbh.
Just a bit of messing with the force and lightsabers ( yawn).
Not rubbish at all. Got it on the PS3 and it has its moments for sure but unless your a Star Wars fan then save your money as just a Jedi Knight clone with the emphasis on combat and no RPG elements to it at all. Some of the levels look very pretty + the PC could handle this game easily as the physics are nothing special either and Havok on its own would do fine. Lucasarts need to hire some producers who understand the PC platform....

It's a blessing not coming to the PC since the game is utter rubbish, only Starwars game worth playing in recent times has been Republic Commando which I think was PC exclusive about 2-3 years ago

I would also call bs on the theory of needing 3 cores minimum to run properly.

I dont think its bs - I think its a bit of stretched truth.

I think the way its coded at the moment requires it to have 3 cores - eg the xbox 360 has 3 cores , so lets program it accordingly to maximise the power from it.

I think it would just need a little bit of re programming to make it run flawlessly on the PC.

I'm not a star wars fan, I enjoyed the films 4 to 6, and enjoyed games like empire at war, battlegrounds 1&2, and galactic battlegrounds.

But this game just doesn't do it... I can imagine it being fun for 30 mins, then never touch it again. Might look pretty agreed but it's just not my type of environment, I'm just not interested in a SW themed game like that...

Yeah because piracy is actually a threat to PC gaming. Even Crytek have reversed their position on this and have said the reason they're not focusing on PC exclusives anymore has nothing to do with piracy.

Not to mention that they could simply sell The Force Unleashed on Steam or D2D.

Thats a bit dramatic?

PC Piracy is the fault of the developers in my opinion.

So many times have we been promised x game with x features only for it to fail badly, we spend £30 and get nothing in return. Why should we keep paying for massive companies like EA to keep spitting out sub standard games when we can get them for free?

I am more then happy to throw my cash at a game that deserves it, i.e. HL2.

Yeah, except the Euphoria engine and physical interaction with the environment is a massive part of gameplay with Force Unleashed - and this needs a beefy CPU more than anything else.

It's a massive part because the rest of the game is just dull and tedious. Honestly, I played this for a bit on the Wii and the graphics were attrocious and the gameplay was virtually non existant. No great loss. Really.

Because there's no point developing for a platform with only 14% market share when you are already developing it for seven console platforms (including hand-held platforms).

Umm ... look at the maths behind that statement. 7 console platforms plus the PC makes 8. 100% divided by 8 is 12.5%. So which of the 7 is lower than the 14.5% PC in market share?

what a load of bs! here is PCGA destroying lucas art "arguments".

"That's not an educated answer. In the last several years there have been at least 100 million PCs sold that have the capabilities or better of an Xbox 360. It's ridiculous to say that there's not enough audience for that game potentially and that it falls into this enthusiast extreme category when ported over to the PC. That's an uneducated response."
