LOL WUT? Nintendo Wii anybody?
Let's face it, there is one true answer and it is greed. PC gaming only makes up something like 13-14% of game sales and I am not even sure if that includes hand-held platforms, so it's not a case of "our gaming experience" being at stake it's simply a case of us not being important enough to their wallets.
Thank god that there are developers out there who still put games out for the PC, unlike Lucasarts and Epic Games who are only where they are thanks to PC gamers in the first place. Good riddance.
The simple reason why the game isn't being ported to the PC is because of the Euphoria engine. It requires a minimum of 3 cores to work properly, so only those with a quad-core set-up can play the game.
It's the same reason why GTA 4 is very unlikely to be coming to the PC.
The chances of gta4 not coming to pc are about the same as FORD not making a new fiesta\mondeo\focus.
I would also call bs on the theory of needing 3 cores minimum to run properly.
Bah, shiny graphics aren't everything, gameplay is what counts. Why bother developing it for the Wii if that's the case because surely the people on the Wii won't be getting the same experience as on the PS3 or even the xBox, they would in fact be getting a watered down experience.
How on Earth can that attitude be defined as greed?LOL WUT? Nintendo Wii anybody?

...which of course the Wii has, amirite? Most likely reason they're not considering it for the PC is piracy I imagine, behind closed doors anyway.Yeah, except the Euphoria engine and physical interaction with the environment is a massive part of gameplay with Force Unleashed - and this needs a beefy CPU more than anything else.
Because there's no point developing for a platform with only 14% market share when you are already developing it for seven console platforms (including hand-held platforms). How on Earth can that attitude be defined as greed?
If they were being greedy they'd farm out some sub-standard port and be done with it.
I don't really care either way about this specific game, just thought it was ridiculous that someone should accuse them of greed when their decision is the antithesis of the word.
Yeah because piracy is actually a threat to PC gaming. Even Crytek have reversed their position on this and have said the reason they're not focusing on PC exclusives anymore has nothing to do with piracy....which of course the Wii has, amirite? You'll notice that was going off the typical monthly NPD Group sales figures that have only recently, in the last month or so, been revised to include digital download sales and online subscriptions (neither of which apply to a game like The Force Unleashed unless it appears on Steam or similar).Nice stat there, 13-14%? PC games software sales are more than all console software sales combined, according to ELSPA, who are independent enough that I believe them, ELSPA members are just as prominently console as PC based.
Okay, well I hope my explanation was sufficient for you.No, I read the thread with interest, but the only comment I had arising from reading it was that.![]()
