This is why PC gamers should stay away from Gametrailers

Don't get how any PC gamers used that site anyway, go watch any of their PC platform reviews, no matter the game it will look like they're getting about 10fps.

Great website though, love just downloading a bunch of HD trailers and queuing them all up to watch.

Very easy to use, wish there was an equivalent for films.

as someone just mentioned regarding drivers & bugs.

take GTA IV for example that was one of the worst console imports to PC, even some of the high systems had trouble coping unless you had a quad core, i had to patch the game 4 times to get it work with my PC, whereas if you play it on an Xbox you have none of these issues.

Yeah, but GTA IV is also one of the few games that has innumerable video settings that would never see the light of day on a console. People go on about the game running badly, but it would probably run like a dream if they made it look the same as the console version*. The console version runs at like 25fps (if that) and looks like something that came out of my bum.

*I'll admit it ran badly at launch, but most of the performance-related issues were fixed with the fourth patch.

True the PS3 had bare FPS Slow down:p Xbox was a bit better but still SCUM compared to the PC V

I've got a PC, 360 and a PS3!! Love em all but PC's still my fav.

Console gaming is awesome now that the systems are well bedded in, cause it's cheap. But I stayed well away when the machines cost €600 + €70 per game.

The PC has been my first platform of choice for years. Console ports are hit and miss depending on how well they've been developed, but proper PC games like Half-life and Starcraft are absolutely untouchable.

I'd like to see the next gen consoles render in full 1080p+4xAA without scaling. I'd also love to see console games developed with full keyboard & mouse support where it works well. Even then, PC would remain the premium enthusiast platform.

It's quite simple - they're The Press. They pander to the masses to sell themselves, and what the console masses want to hear is re-assurance that they're not really as thick as they suspect they might be. Gametrailers is just The News of the World of gaming.

You're drunk, aren't you Tefal? You normally type much better than this, it's only when you've had a few that your skillz slip :p

Tsk tsk, rat-arsed at 6PM on a tuesday. What is the world coming to?

nah any post that's legible is a win with my typing :o

Oh man dont get me started on that, People that actually thing dual analoge is better are actually mental. Argued this so many times at work, control pads are just to slow! :D

My argument is like "You know how easy it is to open a folder really fast on a computer?" "Errrrr Yea" "Well just imagine that folder was someones head and the clicks are the shots"

Some people think we're freaks because we have good enough hand eye co-ordination to use a mouse and keyboard.

But yea, that is the most common argument when it pops up!

but when you've watched the average computer user miss the folder on the first click then when they hit it don't click fast enough to double click and finally get it on the third try you have to wonder :p

Plus its a more natural way of aiming id say

Video doesn't appear to work for me, presumably it's been taken down when they threw a wobbly.

Does it have that 'analyst' Michael Pachter on there saying how the PS3 is more powerful than any PC? Seem to remember him claiming that a while back... considering most of these people are involved in gaming industry coverage on a daily basis, they can be remarkably ignorant.

i use gamespot for my trailer needs, but i always look for 'gameplay trailers' on youtube before deciding :)
i can't play that vid on the link the op gave do i need this 'fiv player'?

I stayed away from them when they added those compulsory 30 second ads even with adblock installed they were hard coded in to the flash player.

Seems they dropped those fast must have experienced a massive traffic droppage.

The guy with the glasses is a first class moron not worth listening to.

PC gaming has been going to decades. There are 10's of thousands of pc games, whilst most consoles only manage a couple of hundred in their life-span. Less if you don't count the yearly installments of Fifa as new games.

PS1 - 2,418
PS2 - 2,015 + 2,418 due to backwards comparability.
PS3 - 645 so far.

Wii - 968 so far

Xbox - 966
Xbox 360 - 798 so far + However many Xbox games are compatible, can't find a number.

That is just from some of the recent consoles.

You may say that "they are all different platforms", however, PC's require upgrading to play newer games, old games lose support due to changes in OSs etc, I would hazard a guess at it being a lot cheaper in both time and effort to buy an old PS1/2 and whatever game you want to play than to go about playing a game on the PC that won't run on W7 or Vista. Especially for someone like myself who doesn't get rid of old consoles, I currently have all the above and a gamecube and N64.
