More dry crying...
I don't think you should be assuming the gender, TBF.Surely the outcome must he that the both lose their case and that's that. Johnny suing someone for making a story that doesn't mention him, and Amber suing for loss of earnings? Neither should have a case imo, but it's incredible how many men are aggressive to Amber in this thread.
As the OP, I was "inspired" to start this thread as I read the article about Heard defecating in the marital bed. As a result, I've ended up catching a fair bit of the trial as I've followed the thread. There has definitely been some sexist comments made for sure, but I'll tell you where I've heard the worst criticism of Heard - from my wife.See for me it is posts like this and the one about this being the final nail in the coffin for the #metoo movement that led me to think this was just another anti women thread. Its as bad as all 'men are rapist' comments.
Are you paraphrasing there, or could you quote specific posts?Well yes but you are mixing hostility with criticisism. There are posts that imply all women that cry rape are lying and the metoo movement women are just liars and it is all blown out of proportion.
Has your wife after watching it said 'it just goes to show you cant trust any women, especially if they cry rape or sexual assault'? Or 'you see I knew that metoo movement was nonsense and this proves it'?
Dont get me wrong Im almost sure there are posts in here that arent just anti Heard because, women.
As Chris Rock said. “Believe all women, believe all women… except Amber Heard. What the **** is she on? She **** in his bed! She’s fine but she’s not ******** fine.
What does this mean, did she say something I assume?honestly why would you double down on something you've just lost on? Beggars belief!
The problem with this case is that it was a defamation trial, but a section of society seem to think it was a rape trial. It's no wonder they haven't encountered the result they craved.I know nuance isn’t permitted in this thread, but I think it’s important to try and stand in the shoes of others who have been victims of domestic abuse and violence. One of the challenges is overcoming the often charming public face of their abuser in order to be believed. The reason this case is so upsetting for those people is this case, very publicly, reinforces the notion that how someone is in public reflects how they are in private, and will again make those voices harder to be heard. That is regardless of whether or not the outcome here was the right one.
However, as I said up thread, on the balance of the evidence presented, I think Depp was probably right to win this case, but he also comes across as a very complicated, damaged character with a history of substance abuse and anger management issues.
I feel most of all that this case would have benefited from being behind closed doors.
