Anyone with Cerberus installed, can you look for Cerberus on Google Play? I get a 'deactivate' button. Is there any way of stopping this from happening? Anyone who knows about it could just check on Play and that tells them it's installed.

Damn this Google Play "Installed" thing is a big security flaw and a few quick Google searches seem to show there is no way you can 'hide' your installed apps on Google Play.

Is there anyway, I can password protect my access to it? So when I hit the 'store' button on my phone I have to give a password and not given direct access?

OK, I've found a workaround...

Download 'App Lock' from the store, install it and set a pin. Then lock 'Google Play Store'. Now you have to put in your pin whenever you launch the Google Play store. Sadly the free version doesn't let you hide the App Lock software so you'll have to get the paid version otherwise they can just uninstall it from the setting menus (there may be other app lock software available for free that hides itself but haven't looked that far yet).

OK, I've found a workaround (steps 3 & 5 aren't specific to fixing the problem above but adds extra security).

1) Open Google Play on your phone
2) Hit the menu button then 'Settings'
3) Hit 'Clear search history' (to prevent it showing that you looked for it)
4) Hit 'Set or change PIN' (and set a pin code)
5) Hit 'Use PIN for purchases' (to stop a thief buying apps from your account)
6) Hit 'Unlock settings' and enter your PIN
7) Hit Content Filtering then uncheck everything apart from 'Everyone'

And you're done. Because Cerburus Anti-Thief has a rating of 'Low Maturity' it will no longer be available to see on Google Play and therefore the 'Installed' bit can't be seen.

Edit: Damn just realised, whilst Cerberus is now hidden from being searched it's still there under 'My Apps'

Edit 2: Just seen this on their forums...

Thanks for that :) I guess we'll just have to wait for this update. I would have thought 2 months is long enough to sort this though. Maybe the devs have made enough money on the back if this thread to start working on it!! :D

Reading the rest of that thread it seem even the update isn't perfect.

But I did find another workaround (changed my post above)...

What the **** I'm gone for a day and a 56 page thread appears out of nowhere.

Can someone please summarise this thread.

- OP loses phone
- Stalks him by recording phone calls and taking pics
- Tells the cops by they do nothing
- OP keeps getting evidence and keeps bugging police
- OCUK find his name and youtube channel. (Later on they found his flickr and other online accounts)
- After a lot of evidence and phone calls to the cops, cops decide to go over
- They can't find the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- OP sounds the alarm, and police found the phone
- Congratulate OP for the effort
