I had a good strategy for Black Jack, I never spent more than $100 but nearly always came out on top. But the wife didn't like me gambling so I gave it up, it helped that we move to the UK so Vegas wasn't nearby any more.

Blackjack unless you're card counting gives the house about a 1% edge if you play Basic Strategy, but it depends on the exact rules (e.g. double down on any number = good, Blackjack pays 6/5 = bad). Because it's only a small edge compared to most other casino games, you can make your money last quite a long time.

Haha, just that.
The moment you stand a chance, or can play it so well, you'll have a hand under your arm and push out the door.

Very true. On another episode of the program I got that roulette story from, there was a guy who build his own craps table as close to the ones in his local casino as possible. After about a year of practising several hours a day he got to the point where he could throw the dice and have a good idea of what the outcome would be. Despite proving that he wasn't cheating he was kicked out of the casinos

quite likely BS... there isn't much evidence that dice control in craps is actually feasible to the point where it would give you an advantage

I'm not an advantage player myself but I'm interested in gambling generally and I do find some methods of advantage play interesting... some of it does fall into a grey area and can rapidly draw the attention of the casino.

I don't think its worthwhile in general these days unless there is some particular edge you're able to exploit rapidly in one attempt/session for a serious pay out. (such as the gang using a device to 'cheat' at roulette in the Ritz for a million or so or Phil Ivey exploiting flaws in the card design at Crockfords in a game of baccarat for 7 million)

Casinos are well aware of, for example, card counters in blackjack - its perhaps feasible for some professional card counters to sustain a living in vegas but they'd have to play rather short sessions for small winnings and then move to another casino... constantly moving perhaps even taking -ev bets to throw off surveillance - the returns, hassle, risks are probably not worth it as they'll likely just end up with a fairly average income... they might as well just play poker.
