Anybody on 3 or dealt with them in the past? What is there customer experience like, and do you get good reception everywhere? :)

Hate them with a passion. I tried to end my contract at the 18month mark and the lady I spoke to was very rude. She was saying how no where would provide me a better handset on the same package and said I should just keep it for emergencies. She was saying how I could afford to keep it as it was such a good deal!!!??

I went to Orange and I'm a lot happier.

But what about the actual service/network?

I had a rude vodafone employee trying to get me to keep my contract even when I was LEAVING the COUNTRY. It is their jobs to try to keep you with them.

I have never actually used the 3 Network, but I do know that with their mobile broadband network they have a higher proportion of dissatisfied customers than other operators, and that customer service experience can leave a lot to be desired too.

My impression of 3 is that they are aggressive in customer acquisition, but their network itself isn't up to the same standard as those from say Vodafone or T-Mobile, which is a shame as they have some very competitive offerings.

Rgds

Value for money, you cannot beat them. Which is why I have been with them for over 5 years. I now have half price line rental for life. However, what is very annoying is when something does go wrong (not hardware but billing, charges, etc), customer service staff is incompetent. Because I'm unfussy wth regards to my use or phone requirements, I thankfully haven't got to deal with them often. And I always threaten to leave and let them call me back with a better offer.

Philosophically, they are my favourite network. They very much get the idea of the phone operator as becoming more like an ISP, not just allowing, but encouraging VOIP use on their network.

3G signal is much improved since they merged networks with T mobile. 2G is with Orange, not exactly best-of-breed but good enough.

Customer service is pretty awful if you have a complicated problem- changing billing details, adding/removing add-ons to your plan etc is no problem though in my experience.

I renewed my contract again a couple of months ago because there service is so good & it costs next to nowt. Great signal wherever I go loads of minutes & texts for 21 quid a month. :D
I've never used the customer service bit though as the Doris sorts all that sort of crap out for me as it does me head in, even if it was crap she wouldn't moan as she knows that does me head in an all. :p

I recently left them for orange. The signal in rossington was shocking, constantly coming and going. Also the deal i had was really poor compared everything else out there. Also there call centres are the worst i've ever some across.

Was trying to get an N95 with them about 18months ago, trying is what annoyed me the most.

They wanted a bill as a POA and then demanded another bill and then an other one and a copy of my passport or driving licence !

I told them to get stuffed as I believed they where trying to steal my identity ! and not one person in any of there departments could tell me why they where messing me around !

Very poor from the off set !

I'm going to be ringing them on the 30th May, asking for my pac code, and going to O2. Dreadful signal. Poor customer service. Can't wait to be rid of them. They are cheap for a reason, they offer good minutes, but the most frustrating thing about them I've found is that the majority of the handsets they have on offer can't actually cope with the simplist things like having decent signal.

I hate the fact you have to manually search for a 2g signal to get decent signal. I usually have to spend 5 minutes looking for a 2g signal as I usually have 1 bar on 3g, which is misleading as most of the handsets i've had when they display 1 bar on 3g usually means it actually has no signal at all. When I search for the 2g signal it just tells me that there is no network coverage at all.

When I do eventually lock onto a 2g signal after about 30 seconds it will automatically switch back to the 3g signal and my call will get dropped. If i text someone, they'll get my text pretty much straight away. They'll text me back, and at worst, it's taken 2 days for me to get the text through, and at best it's been 2 and a half hours.

The only benefit is having free skype to skype calls which 9 times out of 10 work without a hitch whatsoever, which to me indicates where the priorities are. Whats the point in having free skype to skype calls when you can't perform a simple mobile to mobile phone call, which is what most people pay for every month.
