Thoughts on Agon AG352UCG

Review from April 14th on Rainforest;

I am in contact with AOC tech support right now due to MASSIVE flickering with this monitor. I discovered it when I loaded my son's game. When G-Sync is enabled the screen flickers so badly it is hard to look at. The sad thing is the issue occurs on the menu screen of the game before even starting to play. It is just as bad while playing.

I've read reviews online about the issue but I thought a lot of people just nit-pick over pretty much any little thing. I am not like that and thought I would give it a try for myself. WOW is it really bad...hurts your eyes to look at the screen type of bad.

Other facts:

I can completely eliminate the flicker by disabling G-Sync. I can 100%, every time, reproduce the issue by enabling G-Sync.
I tried with the latest Nvidia Drivers (and an earlier version)
I tried with setting the monitor driver to 'generic'
I tried using the AOC driver from their website
I tried the settings the AOC tech support gave me
I tried different Hz settings from Windows (100 and 60)
My panel was manufactured in February according to the sticker on the monitor.
I'm using DisplayPort to connect to my card

I'll update my review if anything positive is yielded from the AOC tech support. My confidence is not high right now that will be the case though.

****4/19 update:

See the comments section for more discussion but here is the TL/DR.

I tried another game demo last night, a side scroller named 'Inside'. Flickering also occurred with that game. Again my FPS never dropped below 80 and everything else was the same (drivers etc.).

AOC support was not too helpful. They basically pointed the finger at Nvidia. They basically pointed me to the AOC community forums to get help instead of escalating the case to an engineer for me to work with. Horrible support.

Might be worth waiting for another revision...

edit - I'm interested in this as I think I'd like to go back to a dedicated gaming monitor and would prefer to have a native 100Hz panel over an overclocked one.

Well lets be fair that is one bad review vs 5 good ones on that page and the online reviewers only spotted the flickery areas in very specific conditions when they went looking for them. I'm intrigued to see what I find.

Agreed, do some good testing man and let us know! Hopefully a firmware revision will help to eliminate it :)

Sorry haven't commented earlier but I've just surfaced from my love affair with the new monitor.:D

No dead pixels, brilliantly immersive image and very responsive. No flickering on mine but I did read others with the problem found it to be an issue nvidia owned up to with gsync. Just need some decent speakers now so the sound matches the impressive visuals.

Best

Finally plugged mine and and got it running, not as got as far as playing anything properly yet, but even just a bit of browsing and Youtube is to my eyes as massive step up in quality from my aging Dell 2408wfp. Colours are more vibrant and a quick whizz around in BF1 also seemed to have more detail with most things set to high than I had before on Ultra. Some tweaking needed there tho as that was bobbing along around 50FPS on my 1070
No dodgy pixels on deadpixelbuddy
I also don't understand the people whining about the shiny bezel, I sit next to window and the glinting is pretty minor, so much of your field view is full of screen you have to try and be annoyed!

Good to hear Wulf, thanks. Seems like a solid option! If I come back to Gsync then I'd prefer a native 100Hz screen :)

Any idea when this will be availible to buy? I'd happily buy it instead of the other 1440p 144hz options i've been looking at...
