Go with whatever you feel comfortable in.

Tim Minchin can be funny, but I certainly wouldn't call him the coolest man in comedy.

He has no neck!
Not that it's especially relevant. Just an observation.
^^ looks like an idiot. not cool
More importantly he has a Piano for shoes?
That's a good example of putting people off by the way you dress. I avoid watching him on TV because he looks like a ****.
DailyGeek, could you post some of your routine?
Maybe it's just me, but any time I see a comedian come on stage I seem to be just waiting for him to do something to indicate that they're a waste of my time.
I think someone dressed up would probably start off badly. I do want my attention grabbed at the start... but dressing up "comedy" doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
From your own point of view though you should try to feel good. If that means feeling comfortable in jeans and a t shirt, or perhaps it might mean getting yourself a nice shirt.
Fixed.
I didn't really mean like a 'hilarious' costume, but more along the lines of what, if anything, people warm to when they first see a comic. People make judgements before you even get your first word out so it's interesting to see what people think.
I watched the start of both of your YouTube videos and I was impressed. To be completely honest though I stopped watching when you started on Political Correctness, since it's been done too many times before. Up to that though you had managed to not annoy me So I wouldn't worry about that.
it's still wrong
