Thoughts on new gaming Rig.

fast response, not had great experience with AMD CPUS and GPU's to be honest my friend, That was the original bundle that I have edited, total price stands at £1104, That devils cannyon better than the hasswell? and would you recommend the superflower over the corsair? cheers

Devils canyon is a slightly refreshed Haswell, when they are clocked at the same speed then performance is the same.

But Devils canyon is suppose to have slightly better thermal material between the core and heatspreader so the temps are a little bit better.

The Z97 board will still support Haswell as well as Devils canyon, but is also rumored to support Broadwell when that is released. So it is more future proof than Z87.

The Superflower PSU is a higher quality (better internals such as Japanese capacitors etc) unit than the CX range, its also Gold rated.

You may also want to add a better cooler to keep temps lower,

Ok mate, thanks for your sound advice, I was hoping that spending £1100 on this rig that hopefully i wont have to upgrade any time soon! but when that time comes I will probberly have to upgrade the Mobo+ cpu + gpu anyways, I was told to go for a corsair over the superflower, which one would you recommend, and also you didnt list a CPU cooler, would a stock one be ok?

I would certainly pick that Superflower over a Corsair CX PSU.

But as the board supports SLI, if you wanted to add a 2nd GFX card later on then you would be wanting a 750W+ PSU instead.

ok Well i was going to take advantage of having the sli when I have saved up enough pennies, I was orignally only going to spend about £600 Im already nearly double the limit, and the mrs wouldnt appreciate me spending so much, But i will definitely look to invest in a better PSU, nearer the time, I think PSU can hold their value so even if I get the corsair one for now, I could sell it for a few bob to help towards the leadex, really appreciated your input many thanks

really nice setup lee, cheers I have now bought the setup, I just need a mointor now, needs to be 24 inch, any recomendations? *price restrictions apply* haha

I don't really know that much about monitors. The BenQ one below is pretty reasonable. If you want a 144Hz Monitor, then the Iiyama is the cheapest one in stock. I suppose it depends on your budget :)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Iiyama ProLite GB2488HSU-B1 24" 144Hz 1ms Widescreen LED Super Slim Bezel Monitor - Black £229.99
1 x BenQ GL2460 24" Widescreen LED Slim Bezel Monitor - Black £119.99
Total : £364.08 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Well I have one along side a normal "60Hz" screen and it is much better to game on.

There is also a cheaper £179 version that doesn't have the same great stand and I think is missing the USB hub also.
