Thoughts on new gaming Rig.

That monitor comes with a DVI cable (it also has a VGA cable but no one uses that anymore). DVI is fine unless you want to use the monitors inbuilt speakers via HDMI?

Are you sure that the other AOC 1ms gaming screen doesnt tickle your fancy?

I plan to use the speakers on the screen when im not gaming ideally, I thought that having an HDMI cable from the GPU would make the picture better than using the DVI port? what is the difference with the AOC one and the ASUS one, and i kinda like the colour of the asus one more :))

DVI and HDMi are both digital, both are "0" and "1"s, this cant be "improved" with a better cable and both give the same result.

The AOC is rated for a 1ms refresh time so there is a better guarantee of not having any "ghosting" on screen and improved "input lag" so your mouse movement is accurately represented on screen without delay.

I have that monitor, good choice ;) Bezel is on the thick side but the panel itself is decent

thank you al for your inputs on this I have gone for my original setup with
Asus VE247H 24" Widescreen LED Multimedia Monitor - Black
Corsair Raptor K40 Gaming Keyboard (CH-9000051-UK)
Creative Fatal1ty HS-800 Gaming Headset

when I have more pennies I will upgrade my PSU + I will go Sli on the 780, might also ugrade my screen if i feel the computer can perform at 144fps on demanding games.

If it was a Z87 board as stulid said you may need to do a BIOS update before in order for it to run that new DC chip you bought :S

ah bugger, spoke to a customer rep at overclockers and he said that board will be fine, and that they are overclocking it to 4.2ghz for me and they will apply any updates it needs. they are building it for me
