Blackberrys are solid decent phones...they arent very fancy looking ie the GUI but all that will change with the new Blackberry OS6. But if your going to be emailing, texting and calling a lot then nothing beats the blackberry for that...multimedia wise they are ok but nothing to shout out about in all honesty. The worst thing about the BB is the web browser, its not that great but again the new OS6 has a better faster web browser so things are getting better.

If you do decide on a Blackberry then either choose the 9700 Bold or the 8900 curve...both very decent handsets..only differences between the 2 is that the 9700 is 3G and the 8900 isnt...the 9700 has a faster cpu and has the optical trackpad whereas the 8900 only has a trackball which is prone to breaking down ie gets stuck because of the crap that finds its way into the trackball mechanism

When i said about ranges and naming though htc are mainly the ones i was in about i saw like 6 phones that all had the same layout and didnt have a clue where to start

Essentially with HTC's range the bigger the better. The ones with the biggest screens are the top of the range phones (Desire and HD2) and the ones with smaller screens are lower powered cheaper phones (normally with the old top phones hardware in).:)
 
Ok so ill look at htcs and with regards to blackberrys is it a case of just downloading the software or is it a future handset thing

I had a quick go at a 9700 i didnt really get te hole toucj pad thing i couldnt seem to make it work properly ill have another go though

Samsung galaxy s looks good, but I think it really needs a keyboard, or at least some kind of hard buttons, it looks ideal for really being able to do stuff, but games for example must be limited by lack of keyboard / real buttons surely?
I wanna load up tetris - just how good is gaming on a touch screen

Been looking at phones recently
Ive noticed a few htc's tgat look good
Tmobile have a offer for a htc wildfire 20 a month for 2 years ( would prefer 18 month tbh)

How does it compare to a desire for instance
Obvioisly its not as good but what do i miss out on if i get a wildfire ( it had unlimited web too)
 
The wildfire is just a baby desire, not as fast, and i think it has a smaller screen too.

Seems you had an iPhone you could probably compare it from a 2g too a 3gs.

In i don't see it playing emulators and decent games all that well
 
Games etc im not to bothered about as i have a ds and the ipod for them but aside from those
For web and general use how does it compare?
 
Sounds like you want a fashion accessory and not a phone.

Go look at the iPhone 4 or as you cant afford one, an older version maybe, and ask about it in the Apple forum where you are 'supposed' to :p

I admit the Galaxy S isn't the best designed phone around and it does resemble an iPhone 3/3GS but its far, far different and better in every single way.

Calling people a 'loser' for wanting one is just immature and silly.

And also if you had been paying attention then you would have seen i own a k810i... about as far from fashion accessory as you can get

Just because it resembles somewhat an iPhone 3G/S which is a vastly inferior phone.

Oh, and just because you don't own a fashion accessory phone, doesn't mean you don't dream of having that cool iPhone 4 you can show all your mates and the ladies ;)

Err it doesn't fit a single one of your requirements? The battery lasts a day or two, the camera is crap and its touch screen :confused:

What i mean by owning a galaxy s is that it is a terrible decision on there part to model there phone on a iphone

There would be constant is that a iphone? Comments that would just get annoying

Dont lie to yourself it looks like one of those comedy iphone bejing knockoffs you see on ebay

I have had a go ob them and they are very good
But as i have previously said im never one to follow the masses, i always try and research purchases and get the best thing i can afford

Tbh when you are so fanatical about something

Yes the samsung galaxy is a good phone ( ive tried it now) but i could never own one

Yes but i had a ages old opinion that all touch screens were crap as i thought iphones had some kind of copyright or something

I was wrong as i have found by trying phones etc

How bad is the battery?
And i wasnt aware the camera was crap?

Back too square one then. Perhaps i should set new requirements to restart the thread as such


Good battery
Good camera wuth flash ( as long as its about as good as a k810i then its good enough)
Dont mind touchscreens as long as they feel about as good as the one on my ipod touch
