Three customers - quick questions

Data problems in Sheffield / Chesterfield too. Irrititingly I spent quite a few minutes clearing app data or cache this morning thinking there was a problem with apps.

Yeah Mine has been intermittent all morning here in Uxbridge!!

Same thing happened just before Christmas!! I was in London on a Saturday, all day and my signal was on G all day mullering my battery as my phone was trying to connect to my emails etc over 2G

Popped into the 3 shop on Oxford Road and asked the guy if there was a problem... he said an 'Engineer' had had a 'brainfart' and turned off the 3G when turning on the 4G and wiped out most of the South of England!!

Came back on by the Monday though!!

Same in Wealdstone and Harrow town this morning as I was on the way to work. I absolutely needed data this morning so I was furious by the time I got there. The backlash on Twitter's Three support account was huge and there were people from Scotland complaining so it was nationwide.

Rang up 3 for my PAC/PUK code and got through to some indian chap. He convinced me to stay on as 4G was scheduled for my home town+work area by March. He also changed my account to a rolling monthly one and reduced my plan from £15 to £10.

Good enough deal for me. Now i'll wait to see how '4G' goes before seeing what my options are then.

Anyone know the exact date it goes up? Is it the 1st?

I just joined from Vodafone, I wanted the £18 one month one to try first, but was told it was going up to £25 from Saturday. So I just took a punt with the year anyway at £15 a month. It literally cannot be worse than Vodafone for when I'm at home. If I'm not one floor high I cannot get a signal in most of my village!

I'm with Three now and EVERYTHING has gone smoothly...

How do I change the number of rings before voicemail cuts in though? Atm its slightly too long for my liking. Vodafone used to use a code, applied to the handset :)

Also, the him/her voices on voicemail are really irritating! Anyone else find that?

Only for new people, not for existing customers, so you kind of made a mistake, and I made a mistake off leaving it till today but the prices have gone up already :(.

What mistake has he made?

Just got my SIM today - all running nicely at the lower monthly cost.

He wanted the rolling month, but he went for the 12minth due to the rising prices, which wouldn't have affected him.

I wasn't an existing customer. I was on Vodafone and wanted to switch this week. I was going to try for a month and then go onto the £15 year contract. They said I couldn't do that. I could get the month for £18 which could carry on 'forever' but to go to a yearly contract I would then pay the new rate.

Whether that was a blag or not doesn't matter, I get full bars and home and at work. Every other provider and I have tried them all except EE gives me 1 or 2 bars and no 3g. I'm getting 4Meg in my village now so very happy.

EE and Three share masts as far as I know so that would make sense that you get a similar signal.

Interesting if true btw

People will start getting 4G on their phones in a couple of days now. (3rd)
And as we all know its a phased roll out between then and the beginning of March. So as its phased dont expect everyone to have access straight away at the same time, but all of Three's 4G ready customers will be able to access 4G by next month.

As I always say. Take what I say with a pinch of salt please

That level of information wouldn't be given to retail staff, certainly not in that way.

Prices are now like £12.90 and £15.90 for their one month plans. Am I right in thinking these were at £12 and £15 before?
