Three days spent with an OCZ Core V2 SSD (pics inside)

What Windows are you running? Indexing will surely slow down your music drive anyway, it's to do with faster searches not faster music loading into WMP.
Anyway I have upwards of 80gb music (stored on a 2.5" drive, no less) and the only time I notice a slowdown is when the music's first being added to the library. Absolutely fine the rest of the time. Anyway, your funeral :p
True the indexing doesn't help. It's the initial time when music is being added to the library that I'm trying to do away with. My windows is in my spec btw.

Oh ya :o
It takes too much hassle to read things in red, I just stop noticing them. The contrast against the background isn't great, so I pretty much have to select the text to be able to read it :p

That was actually intentional, I wasn't trying to draw attention to it. Just wanted kinda there in the background.

anyway, ive been looking into SSD's for ages and im really wanting to take the dive but ive seen a few articles saying to hold off a few weeks cause thers new intel drives that are going to be cheaper and new vertex turbo drives that are supposed to be 10% faster than current models, but the boilers just broke so no hot showers or SSD for me atm :(

has anyone seen any reviews of Samsung PB22-J 128GB vs OCZ Agility Series 120GB? write speed seems a lot faster on the samsung for only £5 more.

Well the way I see it hard drives have been around for yearssssss

SSD's like 1-2 years? They still have A LOT of maturing to do, eventually they should surpass anything a mechanical hard drive has to offer

wow ur joking right?.. ur going COMPLETE ssd just so that once u add ur music to library(s) u shave a few minutes off of a not too long wait anyway?

thats insane man, i have close to 1TB of music (not including videos/dvds) and even i know that if i was a millionaire it would still be completely stupid to change my storage drives for SSD. The only reason to get an SSD at all is to run programs/operating system/games off, storage purposes will come when they are more mainstream/affordable, whats the rush ?!
