Three network any good

I have a Three MiFi dongle to use whenever O2's service is shoddy. I use the dongle pretty much all the time now, it's always faster than O2! I use it in London mostly.

The network itself, fine. Good signal, good speeds.

The customer service and shop staff, utterly terrible.

Good luck if you ever try and leave.

I am buying a iphone 4s outright and going sim only. The 30 day rolling contract sim only 'The One' plan has £52 cash back at quidco..

Just to update my findings.
Three's been awesome so far, coverage has been fine even inside my Uni (where T-mobile sucked for signal might i add).
Just yesterday whilst parked up texting in the middle of nowhere (visiting the in-laws to be) i ran a speed checker and managed 7 ish mbps :o which was quite a shock and non expected.
Thumbs up from me.

I have held off from moving to three at the mo. Everyone keeps telling me they are great for data but no good for calls.

I've been with 3 for a month now, well I get my first bill tomorrow, and other than not being able to get a signal at my friends house I've had no problems, except being caught by hidden charges from viewing porn vids online.

I failed to see the "watching this video will cost you £2" when I thought it was a free vid lol. My own fault I guess, so much for £25 a month this month lol.

Unlimited Data does kick ass, especially for tethering since my work PC doesn't let me go on social networking or media streaming sites

Sorry go bump an old thread. I couldn't find a more recent one

So, my wife has to stay in hospital for a few weeks. We are both on 3.

All was fine until 2 days ago when 3G data started playing up, no internet in the whole area, got in touch with support and had to convince them to run some checks and turns out there is an issue. Eta for fix 11th dec eek!

Needless to stay the mrs is now using a giffgaff sim and gets 4g at the hospital which we couldn't get with three at this location.

She has her own room and mobiles are allowed on her ward before anyone kicks off, I'm with her most of the day so am suffering too. May end up with a temp giffgaff sim too!

Bad timing is say!

I had a similar thing with EE - 3G/4G died in my area for weeks and the 2G was intermittent. Got a nice 2 month refund in the end though :)

Oh and you can use mobiles in hospitals now generally, apart from in sensitive areas.

Moved from O2 to Three and very happy.

Only issue is the astronomical roaming charges when not in a feel at home country :o Was £6/mb in Moscow recently but using 200mb of data in Copenhagen for free was handy for google maps etc :D

All networks have their plus and negative points. For me 3 ended up with the best fit for me. Pleased over the last 3 years with what I've had and probably wouldn't swap unless the offer was truly amazing. Shop customer service always been good, but of course mileage varies. Phone support a bit hit and miss but get there in the end...

This sums up Three for me in the Harrow Middlesex region.

I moved from o2 to Three a few years ago as o2's 3G speeds were absolutely dire. I haven't looked back since, however since the recent shakeup regarding their 'unlimited data', I've been trying for days to move off my monthly Sim 200 plan to one that actually allows tethering. As an asian person born over here I'm still trying to find a member of their CS that I can actually understand...The call centres are so noisy when I call that I can barely hear the person. They really need to sort themselves out in this regard as they've been like that for years.

Three are easily the best network. I pay £15 a month and get unlimited data in France!

Try that on any of the others.

Their customer service is terrible if you ever have to use them though.

The free roaming limits you to 25GB, and no tethering. Just to warn you so you don't go over!

That said, that's still better than the other networks...

As for my opinion on Three, if you can get decent signal in your area they are fantastic. Unfortunately there are areas where you get nothing at all (and 2100MHz on 3G means that indoor signal can sometimes be non-existant) but even in areas with weak signal I've found them to be better than the competition. In areas with no signal, I frequently find that the other networks aren't actually usable anyway.
