Three Or O2?

I've a Android phone which supports,

Network Band: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz & WCDMA 2100MHz
Data Technology: GPRS, EDGE, HSPA

My use is fast internet so I can browse the internet while I'm out, so which network should I go for Three or O2?

Not sure about O2, but three's plans often have truly 'all-you-can-eat' data rather than fair use policies on some other 'unlimited' data packages. Might be worth considering if your a heavy user.

O2 is offering up to 300 UK texts, 500MB UK data and unlimited Wi-Fi for £10 a month and Three is offering 500MB data, 100 minutes and 3000 texts for £10 a month

O2's coverage is very poor in my experience, when I was with them 2 years ago you couldn't even get 3G in half of London!

I've heard nothing but good things about Three.

I came from o2 where I would usually be on 3g or Edge. Change the Three and it was just constant H.

Went back to O2 for a month after being on three for a good 8 months, saw the horrific coverage on o2 and ran back to Three...

I was getting about 15 meg on my mobile and managed to download around 200gb in a month tethered....so yes true unlimited data.

Just buy a FON router which gives you unlimited worldwide WiFi if that's what you want.

Yet another vote for Three!

Rather than set up my own thread....

Is 3 (three) truly unlimited then? Say i used my phone to tether my laptop/tablet and use up a hell of a lot of data is there no extra charge? no slowing of data? no nasty letters from 3?

In my experience 3 have been far better in terms of network coverage, download speeds and data plans.

A big thumbs up for 3 from me. :)

O2 has a notoriously oversubscribed network and slow internet as a consequence. If you have good Three coverage then speeds are good, but there's lots of talk about them throttling people.

No, I've done probably around 2-3 TBs since I got with Three on this AYCED plan..

For data near most towns I'd pick 3, to actually use as a phone in the sticks and some data signal almost everywhere then O2 but accept that it's rarely fast.

What ever one has the best coverage for you.

Yep.

I live in Brighton & Hove where there are lots of period building with THICK brick walls. The only networks that I can get a signal, (any signal) at home with are O2 and Vodafone due to their 900Mhz spectrum.

Network strength varies depending on where you are and to be honest it is the most important thing for me to consider. Why would I want a phone I can't make or receive calls on?
