Three Or O2?

Common suggestion is to pick up a SIM for the networks that you are looking at, and see which offers the best signal.

People seem to slate O2, but around the centre of Bristol speeds appear to be perfectly fine. Maybe my view on what is "slow" is different to everybody else's, but I get 4Mbps down/1.6Mbps up in an area of a building that is known for being very weak. HSPA+, of course. So it really does vary.

If you don't require huge amounts of minutes or texts, giffgaff is a good choice. Even though they may be raising the price on their £10 goodybag (£13), that would bring them right in line with Three. At that point...again, just a case of finding out which is better for you.

Yep.

I live in Brighton & Hove where there are lots of period building with THICK brick walls. The only networks that I can get a signal, (any signal) at home with are O2 and Vodafone due to their 900Mhz spectrum.

Network strength varies depending on where you are and to be honest it is the most important thing for me to consider. Why would I want a phone I can't make or receive calls on?

Indeed. No point getting a high end phone and great package, only to find you get no signal.

I will give O2 and Three network a try for a month and see which network is better and faster, is there a website or apps I can check the network connection speed?
