Thunderbird 2 Case Project

Looking good, but tell me how are you going to get it to fly???

It will be flying won't it????

We'll all be disappointed if it doesn't fly

Everybody knows that flying's the easy bit... it's making it hover whilst it delivers the payload you've got to be worried about....

You must have an amazingly understanding wife/gf.
I get my balls chewed for even leaving the odd stick of RAM kicking around (yet she doesn't seem to mind the Robosapien on my bedside table, weird...).

I've heard of a rampant rabbit, but not a robosapien!!!!

Is that the new model from AnnSummers?

Nope but I think I could program it do replace me in that respect if I cared enough. ;)
Now Timmy, that sounds a bit like an alchoholic hiding 'em. Shame on you, you're a pcholic!

It's ok, they're like the wings on a Spitfire, just slightly more extreme. The Spitfire was awesome, so it's all good.

Little update,
Ive received my psu and hdd and got a cd out of a old laptop.
I now need a little help and advice, The psu I got has loads of cables I dont need. Can I cut the cables? or would this make the psu not work?
Next advice, The old laptop cd has pins as the connector, where can i get a adaptor??

Thanks!

re: Adapter

Google: laptop DVD drive adapter and you'll find what you need. Can't link any stores due to forum rules.

re: PSU

For a build like this you'd have been better getting a modular PSU (as you probably realise). Could you pull them back over the optical drive and "store" them there? Failing that, bundle them all together, put them in some plastic tubing (conduit) and build them into one side of the chasis.

Agree that if you can then hide them. If you absolutly have to cut them then this will not have any effect on the function of the PSU, as if they are not plugged into anything they are not completeing a circuit anyway. Just make sure you insulate each individual wire very carefully as a short will make you very unhappy, and a fire in a papier mache case would be a very bad thing.

Ok been a while since uploaded anything, had spent a month looking for a plastic tube but couldnt find one.

  • Ordered Sheet of plastic to bend
  • Started to plaster it haha

Anybody had any experience with bending a plastic sheet quite oval shaped? Ive never done this before so going to be fun ;)
