Thunderstorm Watch - 2024

Good luck to those in the path of it who've got to work in the morning. Though it seems a lot of it is sheet lightning with relatively muffled sound.
 
It’s been going since at least 2am here in surrey.. probably the most lightning I’ve seen, massive amount if lightning, thunder and hail like heavy rain. Looks like the third wave of it just coming back now.. lightning every 10-30 seconds.

Mrs sleeping through it like a log.

Woke up in Tunbridge Wells thinking there had been a light shower over night, only to find out there’s been a massive storm overnight :o

Slept through the whole thing and no sign of it as I head into London.
 
First few rumbles I was aware of around 0230 sounded like a film scene, with various parts of a large building blowing up, so loud! Not sure if any hit Southampton, saw a few on https://www.lightningmaps.org/ hittting around Bishop's Waltham and Pompey. Brighton looked to be getting a hammering.

So tired this morning.

I got woken around 4.30am with some almighty loud thunderclaps. Constant flashing in the sky from all the lightning. I've never seen anything like it.
