Thunderstorms 2026

The HDHomerun was a great piece of kit, meant I didnt have to stretch cables to the kitchen and kids rooms, I got it in 2019 and its been flawless until today......unfortunately my garage floods with heavy rain and no-one will take responsibility for the remedial work (its a rented house and I'm not allowed to do it!) so everytime there is heavy rain I have to strech a barrier across the drive to prevent flooding, just wasnt quick enough today!!
Insane constant thunder claps for the last few hours here in Beds and into Hertfordshire as I drove home.
Could see multiple lightning bolts drop from the sky, its a real aggressive Thunder havnt seen this in a long time.
Roads totally flooded by the amount of rain coming down.

, Epic downpour here too, Actually has pointed out a couple of problems with our guttering!Big storm here, rain was so heavy it flooded my garage, and whilst outside sorting this out there was a flash of lightning and the largest thunderclap I have ever heard - unfortunately it appears to have fried my HDHomerun tuner (which was attached to the antenna) and also the Mesh system it was attached too. Overall its going to cost me c£250 to replace
At one time we had to unplug the TV from its aeriel and the mains in thunderstorms, which meant we usually read a book or went to the pub.
Will be doing that until they come and ground the antenna, not my house as I am renting but I thought all external antenna had to be grounded??? Just had a massive bout of thunder, lightning and torrential rain here in Mount Pleasant. It was directly overhead, and so bad that my mate can't jump on games tonight because his 7 year old is terrified.

Think that was most nuts storm I've seen last night. Like something out of a movie.
Lightning every 3 to 5 seconds with continuous thunder for at least an hour.
Absolutely threw it down at one point.

Several videos on the crappy microblogging site about a funnel forming in Herts yesterday... looks wild.
Lol just did an errand into Guildford town centre.. I managed to get back just to the car park before the first spits of rain.. by the time I got out of the carpark, the rain was biblical and torrents of water and pools were everywhere!
Rumbles of thunder still continuing.. Glad I have some grippy all weather tyres on the car

you're a little east of me think, but yep lots of thunder and car alarms
I'm out where that orange spot is to the west - we had 4 massive simultaneous ones, then a couple of average strikes a few minutes later and that was it.

Had some minor thunder noises and about 5-10 mins of heavy rain and now the sun is out again
