Thunderstorms 2026

Finally some heavy rain incoming. We’ve missed every other storm by just a few miles. Not this time

Y6ent survived the thunderstorms and heavy downpours Thursday morning and all the subsequent rain we've had since. Hoping the forecast is accurate as dry on Monday so I can pack away dry kit.

I was passing through Manchester Piccadilly at about 6pm and there was a biblical level of rain pounding on the roof.... and water cascading down the stairs onto the platform. It was rather more unsettling than I care to confess.

I have just seen a couple of videos from Whitby and it was getting a bit of a battering over the weekend with some heavy rain and flooding. I was only there last week.
