Thunderstorms

Love those gifs!

All is calm here. Feels like it may start again soon though. I hope the lightning is as good as the storms we got last year, but not the rain.

Just had a clap of thunder down here so loud I shot out of bed lol. Never heard anything like it, the cats jumped 6ft in the air too lol.

Surrey btw, near Berks border.

Had a thunder storm just in time for going to work, the sheer amount of rain overwhelmed the drains and flooded most of the roads on my journey. This drain was now a particularly spectacular fountain!

Which road was that TwoSaints? It took me 3 attempts to get into darlo this morning

That was a pretty miserable night of sleep in London, so hot and humid. I also had my window open to try and keep cooler, yet I was woken up by thunder a number of times through out the night.

Can hear faint rumbles of thunder in the distance again now.

Utterly insane 5 minutes of weather, that clap of thunder signified the start them if absolutely pelted it down tropical storm style and then a little rumble of thunder marked the end.

It's glorious again down here now, little humid still but a fair bit cooler. Airing out the house before it warms up again.

Getting a little dark and starting pouring here now but the thunder is a long way off.

ha I had just nodded off again just after 10am and heard a massive boom I nearly fell out the bed :D

Thunderstorms are awesome.

impressive!!! How did u do these wicked gifs?

Took some videos on my camera.
Loaded said videos into VirtualDub. (which was a pain as it doesn't like .mp4)
Selected the parts of the video where the lightning was and extracted it as individual frames.
Loaded images into Photoshop and made a gif.

Probably easier ways than this but still, worked out pretty well.

Woke me up at 4:22am... I feel tired today.

The loudest thunder I've ever heard an hour later as well... even louder than the one I heard in Jamaica which almost made me **** myself.

im not far from you and it sounded right overhead, along with the heaviest rain ive seen for a long time

Currently at work in Leatherhead and it's just started to get dark and I can hear the odd rumble in the distance!

Would probably be rumbling from over here - it finally started thundering over here at about 11. Few were directly overhead with no noticeable lag between lightning and thunder - was pretty loud!
