Had the storm of the end of worlds here in macclesfield earlier.... wind? WIND? its was like superman stood at the end of the street and blew! shop signs blowing over and people screaming....

And the stunning BBC weather site has zero about it..... "possible showers and sunny intervals" not seen the sun all day.... useless

Was out walking the dog and got caught out. Had to run back and the dog was terrified, just as I went to shut the door it set my car alarm off so had to go back out and turn that off.

Did leg it through an almighty rain/hailstorm at about 2pm. The wind was quite strong too. Pretty much clear skies now.

I work in Redditch - does that count ?:D:p

It went crazy in kidderminster too. Not sure i have actually seen it quite so stormy before. Rain yes, but the wind was really bad behind it.

Hit the south east with a bit of force, squally winds, lashing rain and hail..

Oh and bright flashes and shotgun bangs ;)

Dartford had the wind and hale at 5pm, just arrived at B&Q and the Heavens opened! waited in the car for 10 mins for it to ease, saw the lighting strikes on the way.

Zeus has been angered. You cooked his steak wrong.

HA :D

Driving back from Bristol at about 15:00, heavy winds, hail and rain all reduced visibility to less than 100ft. Wind was strong enough to push my car towards the central reservation on the outside lane  travelling around 60mph.

Lasted for all of 10 mins!

Had it down in Bourne, Lincs, heavy wind/rain, hail, multiple ground strikes as well as sheet lightning.

Was very odd, considering you have the perception you only get thunderstorms when its warm

It was here in Ramsgate about half 5 - 6 o'clock.
i was driving at the time, i could see the lightening in the distane, 5 minutes after that the hail hit. it was actually rather scary. it come down so hard and fast and settled on the road. i could actually feel the car sliding round turns, and when breaking the wheels were skidding as if i was on proper thick ice, i was getting the horrible feeling through the break pedal of the abs struggling to work. (if you guys know what i mean lol)

Telegraph pole catches fire after lightning strike

A telegraph pole caught fire after being struck by lightning in a Shropshire village.

The pole, near to The Wheel Inn in Worfield, near Bridgnorth, was struck during a thunderstorm at about 2.30pm today.

A fire crew from Bridgnorth extinguished the blaze by about 3.20pm.

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue service said BT had been informed of the damage.

A fellow Dartfordian, good day to you sir (although I live in Gravesend now)

Was just driving home when the storm passed over. About 20 minutes of the worst rain ive ever seen, some flashes of lightning, then suddenly it was all over. Weird.
