Had it from about 2 this morning, think it lasted about 45 mins!

Looked like a tidal wave of lightning last night!

2 waves of thunder/lightning over Havering in Essex last night.

Very electrical. I was counting flashes about every 5 seconds for a while.

Was rudely awoken at around 1am to what looked like a disco in my front garden through the curtains in my window.

Haven't seen continuous lightning like that in some time. Main storm passed over in about 10 minutes, but electrical carried on for about half hour.

Serious downpour too.

Really loved that storm, went out to have a look then the kids woke up so they were watching it through a window. They thought it was fireworks!

Thunder and lightning for a lot of night. Got back to sleep only to be woken by a direct/near hit at 5am.

Still going on in Leighton Buzzard, though the lightning looks to be further north. Must be about three hours of it so far.

Nothing really loud though.

you missed it then at 2.30am? I was in a fairly deep sleep and the thunder was acting in my dream as missiles it was very weird when I woke up.

Still thundering a little on and off here now.

Yeah these aren't the usual thunderstorms that end a heatwave. Its expected to be hotter today than yesterday and even more storm tonight!

I'm just amazed that our son slept through that storm, the car alarm going off under his window and the sound of me traipsing outside to shut said car window.

Then woke up at 3am for no rhyme or reason.
