Time for a change

I would stick the best pics you possibly can up. Self hosting is much better if you can. I would suggest disclosing the reserve because otherwise you will get a flood of annoying email asking what it is. State that this is the reserve but you can only end the auction by someone clicking buy it now otherwise you will give everyone else a chance to bid. I'm not really a fan of reserve auctions as I think they rather stop people thinking its real. Better in my view with a valuable item such as this to either just have a buy it now with best offer facility or run the auction but start it on the minimum price you will take for the car. My preferred option would actually be to list the car from £1 with no reserve but I can understand that this would feel a bit risky given the value of the car. The advantage is that it drums up bidders and interest with people vying to grab a bargain. As the price increases they move their own goalposts and start bidding more and more to "win their car". I've used this method succesffully in the past but not with cars in that price bracket I must admit. They have usually been dodgy sheds that mates have been too embarrased to sell for themselves and given them to me to auction on their behalf.

Shop for E93's mate if you want to spend the budget. Lovely cars :)

I agree, as nice as the E46 M3 cab is (and I can't believe I'm about to say this as I've always said it doesn't matter to me!), dropping that much cash on an 'old' model isn't what I'd want to do.

The 335 is a cracking engine, and the tin top 3 series looks very very nice imo.

i dont understand why you have put a starting price of 10k, a buy it now of £11.5k AND a reserve?

been a while since i sold a car on ebay, but having all 3 must be putting the price of the advert up quite a bit!

I also would not list all the things you've had replaced on the car recently under warranty, as it looks like a lemon you're trying to get shut of.

Not enough detail in the Ad about service history. Anyone buying your Z4 for the strongest money is going to want it licked not washed just about - every service and stamp needs bragging about. A good shot and list of the history will and significant £££s to the auction..

Personally, I would have either gone with mattpc at £1 start, no reserve, probably with a shill bidder just incase or at £11,995 with a 'best offer' function.

Disagree. Brand new springs and hood mechanism are two expensive things that are now likely to be good for many years.

Echo comments on eBay photohosting. They only provide really gash pictures as standard to upsell hi-res so best to host your own.

As for possible cars:

Agree with this...

When were the discs / pads changed? Any tax? MOT? What's the tread depth on the tyres? Are they 452's? When was the last service? How much was the warranty and when does it expire?

Are the xenon's/bluetooth factory spec, or aftermarket additions? Are the rear clusters from the face lift? Do the facelift headlights fit?

Yes the facelift headlights will fit.

Does it say the mileage in the advert?

edit: Just spotted it, sorry

And just to add S4 Convertible :)

If you want to be a little different from the boredoms of BMW and Audi, should retain its value better too.
For that budget I'd go slightly older, say 06/07 and supercharged. No real benefit of buying an 08 plate secondhand (especially with the 2010 model upon us) and older cars can still be had with really low miles and in mint condition.

RX8 if you don't mind fuel costs. It handles like its on rails, is proper luxury inside, seats 4 adults quite easily. Unique rotary engine, which if you take care of it like it should (i.e. using the whole rev range when warm & regular oil) it will last a long time. May not be the fastest car stock, but if your budget is £25, you can buy them new or 1 year old for around £15k, and add a supercharger or turbo (or increase the displacement). BTW I have owned one for 7 months, and is probably the best decision I have made. No regrets.
