Time for a new case...for lots of rads!

As some may know I've been quite dead set on modding my current 800D.

Which, until today looked to be do-able, a new years visit from my boss just informed me we have 3 new contracts starting in the new year which is going to leave me zero time for the first 6 months of the year at least to get the amount of modding I wanted to do done (around 20 hours work). Then I have my first born due in June so the end result is, I'm just going to have to look at a new case!

I'm having a hard time choosing a new case, I've almost narrowed it down to the following and would appreciate some input for others and recommendations of any cases I might have missed :D

I am willing to do some minor mods (something that can be done with a battery drill at home) just nothing that I'll need to take into work to do. I'd also like as much radiator space as possible so I can keep fan noise down.

OH and the case HAS to be XL-ATX compatible so 10+ PCI slots (may be listed as 9+1, 10 or 11 slot)

1. Lian-Li PC-Z70b - front mounted dual 360 radiators £250

2. Lian-Li PC-D8000 - 360+240 native may take more with modding - £300

3. NZXT Switch 810 - 360+ 240, not much room for expansion on that - £140

4. Xilence Interceptor PRO - 360+480, maybe more with light mods, ugly as sin but £200

5. XSPC H2+ any combination of massive rads, rather expensive at £370

Any more suggestions? Ideally like to buy by the end of January so I can get my machine moved out of this test bench, oh I'll be cooling CPU, dual GPU's, memory and motherboard, all heavily overclocked.

I have but phobya are so un-forthcoming with more information and build pics of it that its unreal, I was told ~3 months ago they were sending some review cases out to TTL and the likes but nothing ever surfaced :(

Looks a decent case but I can't make a purchase based on the 3-4 stock pictures of the outside of the case they have.

Must admit there not the prettiest either, just watched ttl review of the phobya ultrabig, cable management sucks.
Of the cases you have suggested i'd forget about the switch, dont get me wrong its good looking and good for novices but i do find the build quality lacking and coming from an 800D i think you may be dissapointed.
If i had the money the H2 would be my choice, looks awesome, could build it up different once a month!!

Corsair 900 D out this month

Is this now a 100% dead cert to happen? I know what Corsair are like when it comes to release dates...

A switch was always going to be a last resort, I've had two NZXT cases, I've hated both of them :p

Price wise for comfort I'm looking at around a £300 budget, the 800D was something like £240 on release so hopefully it shouldn't be that much more. Speculated at $350, so after taxes and an undoubted poor conversion rate, perhaps £300. Any more than that I may as well look at the probably more superior H2+

From what I can make out (trawling the OCN thread now) its just set to be showcased this month at CES, no actual mention of a release date?

if I were to move away from my Dangerden tower it would be for either the cosmos 2 or the 900D.
Both IMO look amazing and would house what I wanted

Just had a look at the H2 you linked too, never seen that case before, but i would have that, it's quite a practical looking case, but why is it in reverse?

Its just the way the case is designed, some cases (like the TJ11) have inverted motherboard trays, which actually means you can see the GPU blocks while they're installed!

Not a fan of the Cosmos 2, not enough radiator space for what you pay.

For radiators I'm looking at a pair of 360s (thick ones) at a minimum. I'm leaning towards the Z70b

LD cases are stunning, but again out of budget really, closing in on £500 after tax and shipping!

Suppose it might be an idea to wait up until CES as well and see what the 900D brings to the table, ideally want to make a purchase by the end of the month.

I just know Corsair have previous of heading to an event and saying "hey look what we have, isnt it nice?" and then leave the release status as 'coming soon' for 6 months :p

Not long to go then, according to that we should at least have some interior shots by the end of next week.

I'm ruling out the PC-D8000 and Xilence cases, had a good search, both seem terrible for water.

Perhaps you don't I wasn't charged anything for blocks from Slovenia...That said I don't order very much from outside of the UK.
