Time for a new Winter coat...

I want a waterproof, insulated, single layer Winter coat. I'm not 100% certain which brand and model to go for, but I have seen this.

There's a North Face outlet at Bicester Shopping Village, so I'm going to go tomorrow and have a look. Anything similar from another manufacturer I should be looking at?

Check out Canada Goose, very good quality. Never seen them in store but they are available online.

Thanks. Any particular model? What would the equivalent of the North Face Ice Jacket be? I only want something to waist level, not a fuller length jacket. There's 3 pages of choice on their web site!

Cost will be the major factor hear, most goose jackets range from 4-800 quid.

But this websiteseems cheap......

Thanks, one tip I can offer is that even reputable shops have accidentally been selling fake North Face gear. There's so many fake coats out there, and being that their premise is fancy materials etc., it might be worth sticking only to well known places. A quick google suggests it's an unusually rife problem.

Can I ask why you would want to spend so much on a coat though? Presumably its 'made' to last a bit longer but surely the price is mainly effected by the brand

There will be a hologram label hidden somewhere on the inside of real The North Face jackets, if that helps.

I think so if it's an official store. As to where else you can buy them I don't know. Perhaps camping/outdoor shops.

That website is far too cheap. Even though prices are cheaper in the US, that coat should set you back $500 minimum. Lots of fakes on eBay so I would bet fakes are found elsewhere.

My brother in law has that exact coat you linked, I've worn it a few times and it's very nice, good quality and warm. I can't really say much else, but I'd recommended it

I'd buy one myself, but you'd look like a bit of a fool with both of us wearing the same coat.
