To do list:

1. Finish car by RR meet! :p

Started one last week, 45 things on it, down to 28 now!

Easy!!

My to do list:

Take dashboard off, find wiring fault causing the clock temperature and some switches to not light up or light up incorrectly.
Find molex plug from mk3 loom and then wire up the mk2 loom and install clock.
Clean calipers and paint bells and calipers black.
Measure and then order new cone filter and appropriate hosing.
Establish exactly what is clunking, suspected CV and replace both driveshafts with the spare set in the greenhouse.
Replace front subframe with better condition one, also stored in the greenhouse.
Replace top water coolant pipe which currently drips (second one i have replaced!).
Finalise mounting bracket for expansion tank, top currently fouls strut brace so topping up and filling of the system requires the tank to be remove from its mounts.
Finalise and mount distributor block for the battery to boot.
Replace boost hose with proper stuff.
Replace gearbox with either a 220 or 620 Turbo with a type A or B differential.
Change oil and filter now engine has been run in.
Find and fit new bonnet stay catch.
Find and fit coupe rear bumper and rub strips.
Replace rear door cards on both sides as mine have come unstuck.
Get pulsar intercooler outlet rotated and rewelded then install intercooler.
Fit braided brake hoses and then completely flush the system and replace with new fluid.
Fit and spray fog lights and surrounds then mate up the wiring with the loom.
Replace clear plastic cover on the clocks, 5mm crack in bottom corner of mine.
Adjust clutch pedal, has slight dead travel at the top.
Replace rear discs with drilled and vented ones and pads with mintex pads.
Attempt to touch up scratched laquer near petrol flap.
Ensure everything or the important things are torqued up correctly!
Replace engine mounts, current ones are shagged completely but getting new or good ones are hard to come by.

In order of priority:

1. Identify and sort steering "clunking"
2. Fit air freshener
3. Annual polish
4. Fit new front foglight
5. Buy & fit new rocker cover

Jobs To Do

- Retrim front section of carpet & refit
- Respray back section of floor
- Add sound deadening
- Build new gated shift box for tunnel & add sound deadening/heat shielding
- Lace bay with various heat shields and wiring harnesses
- Sort rear arches & corners of front valance and tidy up a few paintwork issues

  2. Lower By 35mm
  3. BlueFin Super Chip
  4. RR
  5. Top up fluids
  6. Detailed (scratches removed, swirls removed)
  7. Finish the I.C.E upgrade...

:)

1. FIT widetrack! :|
2. Get arches cut/welded
3. finish polishing inlet manifold
4. PC the car...

done most of the other things already :p

1) Replace handbrake cables (arrived yesterday, will fit Fri afternoon)
2) Check exhaust installation (Fitted new SS exhaust last weekend, it's making a bit of a funny noise so I need to check it over and make sure everything is still tight whilst doing the handbrake on Friday)
3) Fix slight oil leak (I think it's the sump gasket so I'll pop the sump off and reseal it next time I'm doing an oil change)
4) Sort out drivers door lock (I re-keyed it a while back but sometimes it sticks, just needs a little fettling)
5) Reattach trim on passenger side skirt (been hnaging out a bit for a while but it's got worse in the last couple of weeks)
6) Do something with wheels, either refurb, get some polished SC wheels or splash out on some Rotas
7) Sort out various corrosion issues (Got holes in inner wings plus sills, base of pillars and rear of rear arches are showing early signs of rust so need sorting before they get worse.)
8) Paintwork could do with tidying up. Considering a full respray in conjunction with above bodywork repairs
9) Sort out some wiring (Had to remove the immobiliser when I got stranded at the resto show last month and currently have wire taped together that should be fixed properly)
10) Investigate strange noise from engine bay, it's mostly likely either alternator bearings or water pump.
11) Finish installing poly bushes
12) Ditto braided hoses (both of these are long standing jobs that I keep failing to do)
13) Free off siezed up track rods and get alignment done (I keep putting this off until I've done the bushes)
14) Fit smaller steering wheel
15) Fit decent stereo
16) Engine swap (I can dream can't i?)

I'm sure there's a few things I've forgotten plus I've not started on the list of jobs I need to do on vix's car....or the 'fixer-upper'......then there's the breaker I still haven't finished breaking....

I intend to keep my car for the long haul. Most of the work I've done to it since I've got it has been preventative maintenance to ensure it lasts as long as possible. The only expensive stuff on that list is the bodywork/paint repairs and the engine swap. The respray I'll admit is something of a luxury (To most people my car looks to be in good condition but everytime I clean it I'm disappointed with the end result due to the stone chips, dings and scrapes that I know are there) which will not really make any financial sense and the engine swap is something of a pipe dream which I doubt I'll ever do (Haven't got the fabrication skills or facilities to do it myself and haven't got the funds to pay someone else to do it) which only leaves the corrosion.

Corrosion is a fact of life on a 20 year old car. To sell up and buy another without the rust would cost me more than a repair plus the car would be an unknown quantity to me.
