Time Traveller Caught on 1928 Charlie Chaplin Film?

As the scene fades you see her hand move and what looks to be an object is just her hair, the way her hand is covering it just makes it seem like an object when viewed side on.

She's just holding her ear for some reason and muttering to herself, no mobile phone or time travel involved.

How many older people walk down the street talking to themselves? Someone mentioned about the angle of the index finger, could that be the finger she is sticking inside her ear??
Ear ache itchy ear or anything.
She even be talking saying this bloody ear is getting on my *******

It's odd that the discoverer of this doesn't extract the clip from the DVD for clarity, but instead films his Samsung TV and uses the slow-motion and zoom features on the DVD player.
He might have some appropriate video editing software that would have done a better job.

it's strange because if it was in something shot in the past 20 years, you would think they are on their mobile and wouldn't give it a second thought

This clip exists on the DVD of The Circus as I was thinking the same thing (hoax by the guy who posted the video) and decided to check it earlier (as I own the DVD), yes, the 'mobile phone woman' is on there.

It looks like she is covering her mouth with a tissue or something, not a mobile.

Also the question of how she is talking to someone is pointless, as if we are assuming she did time travel, a method of communicating doesn't seem particularly far fetched
