Timeless classics

these have not so far been mentioned:

Red Baron 3d multiplayer - most fun online game I ever played (dates back to 1998) that featured a mature player base and fast, exciting gameplay. Il2 just doesn't compare.

Combat Mision Beyond Overlord - the superior AI does me over everytime (even if the graphics do not)

Medieval: Total War (the original one released in 2002) - superior AI, finished mods and classic gameplay. Shame the game is not compatible with modern nvidia graphics cards.

I completely forgot the Hitman series...altho I never played the first one, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th were all good but the 4th was the best! I hear a 5th one is due for release next year not to mention a second movie...SWEET :D

Anyone also remember Worms? How much damage could you do with the kamikaze eh? :p :D

Sim City =D - gotta love those city builders ;)
KOTOR - epic story driven rpg.
Mass Effect - same as above.

ooh..timeless...DNF?..

More seriously, TotalA, Hitman: Codename 47, System Shock 1 and 2, dune!!!! :D, Monkey Island.. Star Wars: X-Wing..

I suppose the Quake series needs a mention, but imho Unreal and Unreal Tournament trump them in 'timeless classics' :)

Star Wars Supremacy (Rebellion in the US)
It has it's flaws but everytime I cant decide what to play I keep coming back to it. I've been playing it for over ten years now!

Agreed, can't believe I missed it upon first release. Using non-combat means to gain support with the Rebels was cool. Same with training up jedi using Luke\Vader, and all the covert sabotage possibilities :p

In no particular order.

WWF RAW
Grim Fandango
DOTT
Monkey Island 1, 2, 3, 4
Tomb Raider 1, 2, 3
Duke Nukem
PES 3
Cannon Fodder
Half Life 2 / Half Life 2 Episodes 1 & 2
Broken Sword 1 & 2
Quake 2

I think the games we hold in such high regard are listed (aside from being good games) because of the time when we played them. Games played between the ages of 12~16 seem to have left a greater impression with me.
