Like almost every new shooter out there barring Bioshock. At least its not a spawn fest like COD4. I was not expecting much from this game and based on the demo its a safe buy - good but not brilliant.
 
Wow. Just played through the demo. Wasn't expecting much since there hasn't been much hype around it (probably drowned in EP2, Portal, Crysis COD4 and UT3 to be fair :p)

I absolutely love it, graphics are fantastic, visually its what stalker could have been with the performance issues gone, looks so much better in real time, screenshots do not do this game justice. It just feels so alive.

I thought the bullet time in FEAR was cool, which it is, it has a slightly better effect than this. But here you can pause time aswell as go backwards in time without the other guys moving. AWESOME!

Will be buying this. 'Nuff said.
 
Awesome responses to the demo. i am pleasantly surprised. Just downloading it now.
Too many games to buy i just dunno if this will get lost in the rush for me and others.

Already got Crysis and CoD4 left to buy before Christmas and i haven't bothered picking up Bioshock yet! I am so glad that BiA: Hells Highway got delayed... i might have some money left for Christmas!
 
Does this use the UT3 engine as it looks similar to UT3 though hopefully with a proper single player?

The UT3 engine is awsome: multi-threaded, fast HDR, quality effects

DX10 ???
 
It uses the Saber 3D engine. (was just searching on wiki to find out out of my own interest too!)

Never heard of the engine, might impressive from what you can see of this demo bearing in mind its not one of the big engines.
 
The more I play this the more I want it.

Just found that you can stop time, run over to an enemy, take there gun from there hand. (not gonna spoil it, just do it - its great :D)

Such an awesome game - guess I just love bullet time, was my fave thing in FEAR too!



Any idea what the story is on this game?
 
Downloaded this last night and was not expecting much due to my experiences with the previous demo, but my god was i impressed, GFX are simply stunning "textures are amazing" and the performance even more so, this game IMO looks better than COD4 and UT3, gameplay is spot on, its in your face action with some nice time shifting stuff going on. Game deserves some serious attention, i hope it wont get overlooked because it is that good.

the graphics in the demo are sensational - I have never seen 1024 x 768 (medium high) look sooooo good:eek:
 
Boring game. The game. menus and loading screens have zero character. Just feels like another churned out fps with nothing whatsoever that would make u go "wow".

The time controls are kinda messy too, I dont really care about whether I am stopping time completely or just slowing it right down. My guess is they added in these very minimal alterations in order to avoid a lawsuit from Max payne which, incidently, is still the master of bullet time. Oh and the whole time control concept is old hat now anyway.

I think people who like basic, meat and potato, solid but uninspired shooters with (arguably) pretty graphics, like fear, will like this game. I.e. not me.

I did enjoy the explosive crossbow and the blood splatter though.
