I laugh at these kinds of jokes, the same as I laugh at most jokes if they are funny, regardless of what it is about. However, the second it is aimed at a person is the second it stops being a joke.

The child I look after was born "normal" (as some put it) but he had a reaction to the immunisations babies have when they were a few months old and is now very physically disabled. I also know of someone who fell off a trampoline and landed on their head when she was 6, who is also now very disabled. Why do they have any less right to a life than any of us?

The child I look after, in spite of his disabilities goes to one of the best mainstream schools in the City we live in, and has a fantastic bunch of mates, and is mentally very clever even though he has severe physical difficulties.

I don't have a problem laughing at disabled people because they can have a very good quality of life. I do struggle with Maddy jokes though.
