Anyway one other thing to consider is your insurance, have you checked with them about the tints as a lot of companies now won't insure you if you have aftermarket tints as they can make it harder for the emergency services to get into the car in the event of an accident.

Security glass like paragon protects you, it protects your car more than normal glass. And its safer as it doesnt shatter. With all tints the glass is more resistant to shatter, which can only be a good thing.

Exactly and I'm not fitting DIY tints to my Mondeo as a result, I fully agree :p

It was more a polite way of saying home-brew window tinting on a £300 Rover is going to look *****.
 
You're all having a good go at tinted rovers

My dad had a rover 75 in dark pearlescent blue with a light-medium tint. Was a VERY smart car, i know that sounds a little odd as its a rover but it just suited. Haven't got any pics and can't find any on google

benwade, it's something most of Rover fans here have got used to. Slating of Rovers at any possible opportunity. Still, I'm not put off by it. We're all different.

Without seeing it, how can you possibly have an insight onto how it'll look?

Oh I know why, because everyone on this forum are Rover experts ;)
 
im sure window tints on any front window is now illegal has been for quite some time . if you get pulled by the police they have the auth to make you take them of infront of them .
not sure if the law has changed but i would look into the above before doing anything.
or this thread will change to "tints are they chav" to "breaking the law hes a chav"

(simon they will probably look good on your rover though since rovers are awesome :p im probably biased though since I like rovers).

Far from it IMO. I've never met eidolon, but I'm pretty damn certain that he's not a chav either.

To be fair, I could do with a simple side on shot of your car - most of those in the gallery are pretty useless to work with.

Just out of interest, your rear windows are pretty dark anyway - would you want to go darker than that? :S

Don't worry, what these guys say isn't going to make me change my mind. I was just interested in what the general idea behind tinted windows is :)
 
Not sure on the % that the 220's windows are tinted as standard, but it isn't much.

They have a slight blue colouring to them as well. Looks ok I guess, but would look better a bit darker.

I'm actually going off the idea now. That's what this lot do to you... suggest something and they'll all come crashing down on you like a ton of bricks :p Will have to have a play in PS I think. Maybe 'shop some wheels on and see how it looks.
