TIP: How to avoid the 100mb hidden partiton on Win 7 install..

I stumbled across this tip on how to avoid the creation of the 100mb hidden partition during a clean build of windows 7... and thought I would share it, if it hasnt been already...

wow..a whole 100MB of space for something as horrifically useless as recovery mode :rolleyes:

Can see absolutely no reason to do this tbh.. :confused:

I know some SSDs are small, but if 100mb is going to make a difference, then you needed to save up for longer.

I just dont like having partitions that dont need to be there...

An applicaiton I was using made this visible in my OS, and I didnt want it.. no other reason than that really.. couldnt see the point of having it if you dont need it....

I dont want a 100mb partition, i dont use it so cheers for the tip on getting rid of.

I don't use the partition either BUT that isn't the point, you will eventually make use of it. 100mb is nothing, even if you're on SSD's. What next? People deleting the windows help files?

Youre not losing it, just putting the files from this partition in with the OS files, as like with every version ov windows in the past.... which has not created this partiton...

What sort of **** needs Windows help files? I have NEVER used a Windows helpfile in 13 years of using Windows. That's what the internet is for FFS!

Lol who are you to say that i WILL make use of it fella? :confused:

I wont make use of it, i rebuild my machine on a weekly basis, used for various tests and such. Will never make use of the repair feature

And when something trashes those files on your single partition (Hi EVE Online!) You'll really wish you had that 100mb partition still.

In that case you are hardly the normal user of an OS, where virtually everyone at one point or another will experience their OS go t*** up. I remember the hysteria this caused when people first descovered they had a mysterious 100mb partition, and realised it was a recovery environment. Oh how I laughed.

Don't forget the Windows\Media folder, and Windows\Cursors too!

You have far too much time on your hands, or you need to check out virtualisation!

Why does an extra 100mb disk usage make a diff if the systems being rebuilt every week?
