Tips for domain registration?

Tip: Opt out of providing your address for whois information - My information was stolen and used to register a .info version of my site when they were free. The gits used my domains email as the reply so I got all the abuse and return spam from their copious spammage. I've since cancelled the domain and am about to register another one which I'll be keeping strictly anon!
Look into SPF :)

I like rambling... picking blackberries as I go, yummie!

Which is only an option for individuals (not companies) who register a co.uk, me.uk or org.uk domain.
Not providing correct details for .com, .net, .org etc can result in you losing your domain - having it taken away from you as their T&C's clearly state that all information given with respect to registering the domain have to be correct.
You can, if you really feel you must, use a compamy who offer a proxy service for your .com, .net etc but you will be charged accordingly.

I've used 1and1 for hosting the wifes bridal stie and haven't had any problems with them - seem to have a good range of packages and support is emant to be ok (never had a problem, so never caled them)

GoDaddy offer this for $4.99/year per domain, or free if you register three or more domains. Namecheap are currently offering their "WhoisGuard" branded service free for single domain registrations. Both are very reputable companies :)
