Well it's normally rotated with the people who turn up, i havent been yet but you either get a certain number or laps, or time or some kind of race then swap.

Thats all taken care of for me, its free :D

Apparently they arnt weighed down either if your ligher which is an advantage for me been so skinny!

I hate this, I am usually the heaviest, so everyone at starting goes miles away! It's fun creeping up to them and blocking the guys behind though :D

dont press go and brake at the same time, you may have bits of chain flying at you,, my friend found that one out... I tried a powerslide, or so I thought and the chain came off. they skid really easily and chains are tempremental, dont break ne thing or they put you in a rubbish kart

oh and good luck.. :)

thank you!

Heh ;) Actually I am genuine big-boned, I have only been once under 80kg and I looked like I was ill! I am around 90kg now, so when you have a guy 20 kilo lighter than you it's not easy!

Take your first lap (or most of it) fairly easy, for a number of reasons. You adjust to the machine, the machine adjusts to the track, you get a sense of how well you are performing at that moment etc.

When you're going at it learn through the first few laps how to take the various corners. They'll all be different and will need a different approach, so start learning those quick.

Gain confidence to take speed through areas where possible as soon as possible!

Good luck!

Try to ease the kart in. When I have been in the past they generally have slick tyres which need warming up. I made the mistake of going too fast and spinning out on the first few laps (combining this with the fact I was heavier than all my friends by at least 10kg [I am 85kg {I was only about 14 years old when I went}] I was performing badly in the rankings).

Also, don't push it too hard at first. I did this, and managed to damage a kart due to it overheating. It was amusing when the guy came to see what the problem was, he touched the kart and said "Wow, this is hot, you must have been pushing it". :p

Have fun; I wish I was going. :p

Taking 15 seconds a lap more than everyone else but taking every corner sideways is, ultimately, more fun.

Not when the crappy kart -most centres have- doesn't have anywhere near enough torque to keep on going :(

When I went with a friend they had some dual-engined karts that did up to 60mph (maybe 70mph). They said that we could have used them if we went back in a few months time. That would have been good.
