Tired at work...

I used to suffer from this, getting tired at work, like really tired. Almost drifting off.

I suddenly stopped years ago (when I was around 18 and actually had some proper work to do!), but I have a new job. It's killing me, it's a contract role. The days are very long, and pretty busy. But in the afternoons. I am shattered! And yet I have not been doing much!

Any tips on how to get rid of this tiredness? And don't say coffee haha. I am sure it will pass in time as the more busy I get, but as it stands I need something short term. The 2 weeks break between a normal job then straight into a contract hit the ground running job... My body has had a bit of a shock haha.

Thanks!

What are you eating?.

For me, skipping breakfast & having no sugar until 11.00 (even then only in the form of the milk in my latte) stopped the feeling of tiredness I used to get at work.

I'd slip into an extremely tired state when I used to snack during the morning at work.

That & make sure you get enough sleep.

Sugar levels drop after lunch. Eat small amounts, often. Fruit and such like. Drink plenty of water.

[OCUK] Work harder. Slacker. [/OCUK]

I have porrige every morning. Slow burn energy.

How much do you eat for lunch? I sometimes get this about an hour after I've eaten a large amount for lunch. Body starts shutting down as the stomach is processing.

I was going to suggest ************ or ******* but cannot post that on here.

They used to work for me when I was working 16 hour days.

Side affects are they may make you crazy.

Go to the toilets and fap to revitalize yourself :p

But seriously, I used to be the same but I have since joined a gym and go at lunch time and feel much better!

Exercise only works for a small few, I'm the same I feel more energetic after exercise but for many it makes them even more tired.

I'd avoid snacking, just don't let your sugar levels get high at all - stick to protein/fatty type foods during the work day & some black coffee (works for me).

Since getting in better shape I've noticed by work sleepiness has decreased, but I'm unsure as to how much of a factor that is.

Hmmmm, good idea on the gym.

I never eat in the mornings. First food I have is at 12. It is normally a pot of pasta, a roll/sandwich and a bottle of fizzy (diet coke). Then I won't eat again until 7/8pm at the moment due to the hours I'm doing (leave house around 6am, get home at 6pm, settle around 7pm.

Carb coma?

That has been my normal meal for years haha. I am starting to become out of shape however... Put on a stone since I quit smoking 7 months ago!
Try swapping some of the bread for meat/fats & working out a bit - might help :).

You need to start eating a healthy breakfast. It will help you throughout the day until your next meal. Cut out the fizzy drink and incorporate some protein into your lunch. Try and eat as early as possible in the evenings.

Hmmm, so porridge or cereal in the morning, maybe pot of pasta and a fruit salad. As for dinners. I don't know lol.

Will try next week :)
