Titanfall 2 - have you seen its multiplatform?

Well, I've never bought a PS4 game on release so wondering where best to buy this so it's ready to play on the 28th? Do Argos or Amazon generally have games at your door on release date or is it worth heading down to Game on Friday?

Best place is Simply Games or Game Collection. I've had mine since Tuesday from Simply Games

*edit*
MP servers are now live. I played one game. Connection was solid with no issues.

This looks brilliant. If I wasn't preoccupied with Battlefield I'd snap it up. Really enjoyed the first game in the series, but was so-so on the beta for the sequel.

Mental of ea to put this out now right after bf and before cod, in a perfect world this will smash cod in the charts but i dunno it still has its fans

How come? The first game was also really well recieved if i remember correctlyl

I was going to add I dont know why im surprised lol, I really enjoyed the first one, guess I thought it might be to much of the same.
Is it still buy the game once and get free DLC?

Thats fair tbh its been quite quiet leading up to release imo, this thread not having many pages is odd for what seems to be a great game

Eurogamer gave it an Essential award:

In a banner year for first-person shooters, Respawn delivers what might well be the best.

To actually go into detail about the specific gameplay tricks and one-shot gimmicks that Titanfall 2 employs would be doing an injustice to anyone looking forward to ploughing through the game, but the one constant that ran through my mind as I played was 'this is like a Nintendo game'. Or, should that be, a Nintendo game developed by the hands and minds behind Call Of Duty at its finest.

Like the best Mario games, Titanfall 2 picks a trick, themes an entire level around it, and then drops it the second it threatens to become overfamiliar. And just like Mario, it's all backed up by those rock-solid fundamentals that mean when you are just in firefights, or are asked to navigate a chasm using wall-running, everything feels nigh-on flawless.

The raw mechanics of Titanfall 2's shooting, and the combination of Pilot and Titan gameplay and the scale changes that leads to would be enough to sustain a serviceable campaign, but clearly Respawn isn't interested in being simply serviceable. There's some of Half Life 2's DNA here - not necessarily in how it feels in the hand, but in the variety of environments, playstyles and even the connections you make with the other characters. In particular, between you (the so-dull-the-name-has-to-be-deliberate Jack Cooper), and your Half Life 2 DOG by another name, BT.

Much of the prerelease talk about Titanfall 2's campaign focused on the relationship between Pilot and titan, which sounded pretty weird at the time. By leaning on all the right buddy-movie tropes, though, and executing each one with panache and - crucially - brevity, Titanfall 2's succeeds in making you care about a twenty-foot robot more than I've cared about almost any action game character in recent times.

Nothing in the story is original - it's all seasoned tropes used effectively - but how rare is it to play through a first-person shooter where you actually know what's happening, let alone one where you give a damn.

I love that networks or "clans" can set a happy hour so that all member playing during that time each day get a xp boost. First time ive seen that in a game, good idea

I've now finished the Single Player game, it's was OK, it was fun in places felt very old school. But it's very short, not sure how long it took but an evening and a bit so maybe 5-6 hours.

Multiplayer is terrible, it's faster paced than the beta but not at all fun. Amped hardpoint very rarely feels like there is any objective, Bounty Hunt nobody knows what they are doing so it turns into any old game, Attrition with the bots is just boring, Pilot vs Pilots the maps just don't suit it.

Very rarely does a game give me no incentive to continue playing it but this one has managed it.

The original game got good reviews and it died in no time, this one will go the same way but probably quicker as it's not as good as the first one.
