To be fair, it's like calling the 780 a 780Ti. The 7870(LE) isn't as fast as a 7950, likewise the 780 isn't as fast as the 780Ti.

Also i'm just poking humbug with a stick because he's so easy to wind up, tends to get worked up over very very small things, makes me chuckle :D

I wonder if my 780 will run titanfall ok, My 780 is basically a stock 880 as it has more bandwidth and power due to it being overclocked :p
 
7870(LE) is by amd's naming system a 7870 (sorry if this angers you)
Maybe it should have been called a 7930 but its not.
If in benchmarks it has the LE after it i think that should keep it simple.
 
Very disappointing Nvidia 7xx/Titan scores. It wouldn't surprise me to see a 10-20% increase in future drivers. The 60fps lock is retarded, but the game didn't play so well for me on my 144hz screen when I enabled v-sync so I disabled it and at least I can aim properly... but the game is so fast paced at times I really feel like I'm missing a lot at 60fps.

When I did enable v-sync to get the frame rate up, my Titan was disappointingly only doing a little over 60fps anyway. The game isn't all that special graphically. It's not bad, the graphics are good enough but there's nothing jaw dropping that you'd excuse a lower framerate for.
 
lol at the mass confusion and then arguing in this thread over the simplest little thing, an interesting read for sure, its quite surreal :)

What GPU it is or is not even relevant.

Must say didn't buy this and given my limited gaming time I haven't missed it :(

Yes that graph can not be taken seriously with the 680 out performing the 770. It is not like the 770 has really low minimums so lack of vram is probably not the cause.

Titan fall uses a lot of vram. Also we know no that lack of vram does not always = single digit fps, although it does in extreme cases. I've seen this myself now on many occasions when i exceed the vram limit.

Ignoring the other comparisons (NVidia to AMD etc) the GTX770 is barely outperforming a GTX660.... So yes the results are well... yeah.

That graph just does not look right.

These days I have more time for benches and tests done by the regulars on these forums as they tend to be more accurate.
 
If VRAM usage was the problem here then why is the Titan still behind the 780ti?
I have seen this game running on a 2gb 680 at insane settings, it's perfectly playable. It's still Source Engine. A lot of the performance issues can be narrowed down to the extremely out dated Havok Engine they've stuck with. I'm not sure what their reasons were but they've been quoted saying they intend to update it. Possibly with the next update alongside GameWorks effects.

Food for thought but my VRAM at insane 1440p and 4x MSAA can hit as much as 3050. Applying either 8x MSAA or even 16x CSAA and that doesn't budge. It would in theory have to hit over 3070 before running into trouble.

VRAM debates are a slogging read
