Titanium Rings

You sure you want titanium? its a very dull looking metal and does not polish up as well as other similar metals.

I wasn;t impressed with titanium to be honest. It felt very plasticy - due to it's weight (or lack of). It's very dull as well.

Platinum is amazingly expensive at the moment.

I was not that keen on wearing a ring, so I wasn;t prepared to spend vast amounts on one, but after a while in the jewelers I went for a brushed Palladium band. I'm very plpeased with it and quite like wearing it now.

My missus has a platinum engagement and platinum wedding band, but it doesn't matter that mine and hers don;t match. Get what YOU want.

Best bet is to go to the jewelers and try a few on. What looks good on paper doesn't necessarily look good on your finger.

there is only one ring you need, she will love you forever :D

One question: Why does you wife want platinum? Is it the looks? If so white gold is a cheaper alternative or is it because it is expensive? :D.

Actually, white gold isn't cheaper in the long run. We had the same discussion about her engagement ring. White gold was £800 and the platinum was £1500. Bearing in mind the white gold needs a that coating adding around once a year. In the long run plat. works out cheaper.

I am open to other ideas of metals, just started looking in to it so I am open to ideas. As mentioned in the OP I would quite like something abit different. :D

Thanks for all the suggestions and links so far!

I don't normally wear any jewelry apart from a watch, so I am not sure how I would cope getting used to a heavy ring.

I went from a platinum ring purely from the perspective that it meant i could afford a more expensive platinum ring for her.

Apart from a watch its the only other piece of jewellery I have ever owned. It sits on my finger and despite the amount of manual work that I do it is still in a cracking condition.

I got a tungsten ring because i wanted something a bit more hard wearing and different, it's got a grey/blue colouring to it that i liked before even knowing what it was made of. Picked up a nice plain band for $200 and 2 years later it doesn't have even a slight scratch, it's a tough mofo.

I've always liked titanium stuff but went for matching platinum wedding rings when we got married and I rather like it :)

get gold band rings like normal people.

Nothing wrong with being a little different Ben :p

I got my titanium wedding ring from here it's lasted me three years so far and should last for many more :)

My wife's wedding ring is pretty much the same style but is gold with emeralds in it - ended up also having to get her an expensive eternity ring on her 30th - women huh?
