To Bad Company 2 or not???

Hmmm, now I'm a huge fan of BF2, and hoping that BF3 will be along the same lines?

I've not played it but have read pretty much all of the huge thread about it and watched so many of the vids, and it does look amazing.

The logic behind this post escapes me.

What dont you understand?

BC2 is one of those games that unless you invest a large amount of time you'll just get your back side handed to you. Whereas MoH takes a few rounds and you've picked it up.

Why would someone who wants to play a game for 2 weeks play BC2 and just rage quit...

And quite frankly "The logic behind your post" also escapes me as this thread clearly gives you an indication of what i'm on about.

Yeah thats what I read too. He's saying MoH is diet BF3, essentially a test version. And from what I've seen/played of MoH it is shockingly bad.

But thats your opinion, if you actually gave the game time its not bad at all.

Going of topic now ;)

But basically imo there are 2 types of BF2 fans going in to BF3, 1 set of fans want a re-skinned version of BF2 and the other set want the classic maps but a new and better experience. Its each to their own.

Yeah, just a little, back to what I was thinking about, would BF3 have more of an impact for me if I was to not play BC2 first?

Would I be more blown away by the destruction etc? Because at the moment the destruction I have played with has been little more than the odd explosive barrel and panes of glass...

If you want to enjoy BF3 more, then skip BC2... that being said, BC2 is the better game - especially as you mentioned destruction - so why not get straight to it and skip Battlefield 3 altogether? :D

Overall, going from the recent beta, I can't say I was overly impressed with the destruction in BF3, as BC2 (imo) out-does the beta in this regard. Need to wait for the final product to determine if this is still the case of course.

BC2 is a more arcadey experience, and BF3 has a layer of "realism" (going prone, movement etc.) added that just makes it a much more tense experience than BC2.

It all depends on what you want from the games - note that BC2 is already quite well-known, so the level of play is very high. BF3, if the beta is anything to go by, will have a lot of newbies from day 1.

BC2 = a hamburger, BF3 = a steak :D

You've wasted hours reading that massive thread, watched loads of videos, yet you missed out on a free open beta  Or are you on about BF2?

If you can get it for cheap, then I don't see why not. Although within a few weeks a fair few people will be migrating over to BF3 so there will be a far smaller population of people to play with/against.

And you won't have the advantage of having all the unlocks so it'll probably be a bit frustrating at first. Singleplayer campaign was alright, wouldn't say it blew me away but was enjoyable for the most part.

BC2 is a hell of a good game, and I would dare wager that it'll still be better than BF3. I'm only judging by the beta though. Both Caspian Border and Operation Metro are still significantly worse than nearly all of BC2's maps, and the gameplay has been massively pared down with far more static environments and much worse hitreg & netcode.

BC2 has legs.

Steam have a THQ sale this week and there is a good chance Homefront will be reduced on one of the days. Judging by the price this new game is already being sold on all formats, it might be cheap.

Well, I love the slower and tense gameplay of BF2, so BF3 probably the one I'll enjoy more...

Well, up until Sunday, I was using a P4 2.8ghz...there was no way in the world it was going to run bf3, not even at low res with everything turned off!!!

Hmmm, maybe I will give it a whirl.

I'll be kicking myself if it's a fiver... paid 8 quid for it the other day from Play, but it is a pretty steelbook version I guess.

Not able to strafe left or right while sprinting is the only issue for me in this game. It was becuase of this I uninstalled the game as movement felt very wooden and clunky. I only played multiplayer for few hours though.

Hmm might just reinstall it for passing 2.5 weeks
